'Why should I? I don't know how good it would be. I'm slow now,' the former cast member of the NBC variety series responds when asked why he will never host the show.

AceShowbiz - Adam Sandler won't follow the footsteps of fellow "Saturday Night Live" alumni who have returned to host the show. Speaking with another former "SNL" cast member Norm Macdonald during his podcast, the "Grown Ups" star explained why he would never host the NBC long-running series.

"Why should I?" he responded after Macdonald asked him, "Why won't you host the show?" The 47-year-old actor continued, "I don't know how good it would be. I'm slow now." He added that "there are guys who love doing it, who are great at doing it," but he's not sure that he could do it well "I just don't know how good I'd be doing it. I did what I could do on that show," he said.

Sandler joined "SNL" as a writer in 1990 before becoming a featured player the following year. He said that he and Chris Farley were fired from the show in 1995. While he's reluctant to return as a host, Sandler has made some cameo appearances on the sketch series.

Since his "SNL" exit, Sandler has starred in a bunch of feature films, including "The Wedding Singer" (1998), "Anger Management" (2003), "Funny People" (2009) and most recently "Blended".
