Kinberg will be in charge of producing, engineering and overseeing the development of the movie series together with Hasbro execs, Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis, Wizards of the Coast CEO Greg Leeds as well as other execs.

"Magic: The Gathering" was introduced in 1993 by Wizards of the Coast as trading card game that grew popular among tweens, teens and young adults in the '90s. So popular the game was that it spawned tournaments worldwide. The game involves cards with a variety of characters, spells and weapons that are used to fight opposing players. In 1999, Hasbro bought Wizards of the Coast which acquired the game's licenses.
