'There was a song that was a possibility but it didn't work out,' the raptress says of the rumored collaboration with the former Disney star.

Last month, Nicki Minaj was photographed hitting a recording studio with Miley Cyrus and Mike WiLL Made It. The photo prompted rumors that the "Super Bass" raptress was working on a collaboration with the former Disney star.

However, the rumors turned out to be false. In a new interview with E! News, Minaj confirmed that she didn't "make any music" with the 20-year-old singer, although she did have a plan to do so. "There was a song that was a possibility but it didn't work out," she explained.

In the interview, Minaj also talked about why she didn't want to reprise her role as a judge on "American Idol". The 30-year-old star, who sat on the judge panel alongside Keith Urban, Randy Jackson and Mariah Carey on the singing competition last season, said that she wanted to focus on her music career.

"My heart is in my music. I had to step back and go and have different experiences so I could write my third album," she said. "That's the most important thing in my life right now and that's what I'm actually doing right now - just beginning the third album and that will be out in 2014."

"It was a great experience and it gave me something to write about and now I have to make new experiences," she added.
