The Canadian rapper is set to deliver the first live television performance of "Started From the Bottom", the first single off his upcoming third studio album "Nothing Was the Same". The music video for the single is currently competing in two different VMA categories, Best Direction and Best Hip Hop Video.

Drake's upcoming performance at VMAs will mark his first since 2010. He will join other performers, including Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke and Kanye West.

The annual awards-giving show will be opened with Lady GaGa's "Applause and closed with Katy Perry's "Roar".

MTV has also announced that Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jared Leto, Kevin Hart, Emeli Sande and A$AP Rocky are among those who will make it to Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Sunday night, August 25.
