AceShowbiz - Durex has released a statement concerning reports that the company teams up with Daft Punk to create a range of condoms called "Get Lucky". In a statement to MTV News, a representative for the contraceptive company denies partnership with the French duo.
"We are aware of reports that Durex has launched Daft Punk branded condoms following their hit single 'Get Lucky'," the representative said, adding, "There is no Durex promotion or partnership with Daft Punk in the U.S. or any other markets and Durex is not posting free packs to the world's top DJs as suggested. However, we do hope that by using Durex condoms, music-lovers will continue to make sweet music together and have great sex!"
Reports suggesting that Daft Punk and Durex teamed up for a range of condoms emerged after Diplo shared a picture of an empty "Get Lucky" condom container. The flattened box features a cover art of the duo's album, "Random Access Memories". Diplo captioned the picture, "Thank god I had those daft punk condoms last night."
In other news, Daft Punk teamed up with Bandai and Japan's SH Figuarts to release their own line of action figures. The 6-inch toys will be released in Japan in November, before entering U.S. market in December.
