The husband of Anna Faris undergoes physical transformation for his role as Star-Lord in the James Gunn-directed film.

AceShowbiz - Chris Pratt sculpts his body to muscular perfection for his leading role as Star-Lord in "Guardians of the Galaxy". Pratt, who is the voice behind Emmet in upcoming "The Lego Movie", shows off his hard-earned muscles in an Instagram photo. "Six months no beer. #GOTG Kinda douchey to post this but my brother made me," he captioned the pic.
This is not the first time Anna Faris' husband undergoes a serious transformation for a role. The Andy Dwyer depicter on "Parks and Recreation" previously had to bulk up for playing a member of Seal Team Six in the Kathryn Bigelow-directed flick "Zero Dark Thirty", which won an Oscar for Best Achievement in Sound Editing.
In the Marvel movie, Pratt will act alongside Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Glenn Close, Lee Pace, Benicio Del Toro, Karen Gillan and John C. Reilly.
Penned by Gunn and Chris McCoy, "Guardians of the Galaxy" reportedly will feature a character that is quite new in the Marvel universe, Angela the bounty hunter. Rumor has it, "Doctor Who" star Gillan is tapped to take on the role.
The film will be up against "Fifty Shades of Grey" on August 1, 2014.
