A first look at Avril Lavigne and her new husband Chad Kroeger is revealed in a series of candid pictures taken by paparazzi. Obtained by X17Online via PopSugar, the photos give a sneak peek at the couple heading hand in hand to their wedding rehearsal and having a toast with their guests after saying their "I dos."

For the pre-wedding event, the bride donned a flowing white dress and a flower headband while her groom wore a black shirt. She changed into a strapless black dress by Monique Lhuillier while he donned a black tux for their candlelight Gothic-themed nuptials. The newlyweds then shared a kiss on the balcony and toasted Champagne.

Lavigne, 28, and the Nickelback frontman, 38, swapped vows at Chateau La Napoule in Mandelieu, France on July 1 to mark their first anniversary of being together. It's also a nod to their native country which celebrated Canada Day on that date. "I'm so excited to tell you the rumors are true... Chad and I got married yesterday!" she tweeted.

The wedding was a three-day celebration in the South of France. "I wanted to make sure it's a crazy vacation and an experience of a lifetime for our guests," she told Hello! Magazine. "I wanted it to be over the top. I'm obsessed with castles and I love French decor and goth ... I found this castle in France and we visited it and it was perfect."

"When you've got that ring on your finger that you get to look at every single day, and you get to call that other person husband or wife, it's a really special feeling," her hubby said. She felt equally blissful as adding, "We hope to be together forever. One day down the road we'll have a family. I look forward to growing with Chad."

It's Kroeger's first marriage and Lavigne's second. She was previously married to Sum 41's frontman Deryck Whibley. They split after three years of marriage.
