The follow-up to the comedy musical has Kay Cannon returning as the scribe, as Universal is 'actively working' on the next 'Bourne' film in addition to planning the 'Snow White' sequel.

AceShowbiz - Universal Pictures has shared updates on some movie development at CinemaCon. During its presentation on Tuesday, April 16, the studio revealed that it planned a "Pitch Perfect" sequel for a 2015 release.

Original writer Kay Cannon has been tapped to return to the follow-up to the 2012 sleeper hit. However, there's no word on whether the entire cast, including Rebel Wilson, Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow, director Jason Moore, and producer/star Elizabeth Banks will return to the sequel.

Still at the event taking place in Las Vegas, Universal announced that it aimed to release "Snow White and the Huntsman" sequel in 2015. The studio's chairman Adam Fogelson also said that they're "actively working" on another Bourne movie despite the not-so-impressive performance of "The Bourne Legacy".

"The Fast and the Furious" franchise, meanwhile, has a more clear future with the next film already getting a release date. The star Vin Diesel announced that "Fast and Furious 7" would arrive on July 11, 2014. Diesel and Paul Walker are expected to return as cast members, while "Insidious" helmer James Wan has been rumored to tackle the helming duty.
