CBS has enlisted Charlie Rose and Gayle King to take part in a big makeover of "The Early Show". The two will reportedly join as the hosts on the morning news program in early 2012 when it will launch its new two-hour format.
Rose is set to co-anchor the 7 A.M. hour with current host Erica Hill, while King will lead the 8 A.M. hour along with Jeff Glor who has joined "Early Show" since November 2010. Meanwhile, the fate of Chris Wragge, who moved from WCBS-TV News to CBS this January, is still undetermined.
CBS has not commented on reports of the changes, but the network is expected to make an official announcement regarding the revamped "Early Show" on Tuesday, November 15 in New York. Words are, the program may also get a new name.
Rose has been a part-time correspondent of CBS' "60 Minutes" and is currently hosting his self-titled show on PBS. King, meanwhile, is hosting "The Gayle King Show" which airs on her best friend Oprah Winfrey's cable network, OWN.
