Paramount Pictures has set "Hugo Cabret" to be a Thanksgiving movie. The studio has just locked November 23 as the release date for Martin Scorsese's big-screen adaptation of the Brian Selznick novel, Deadline Hollywood breaks the news.

The movie was initially going to be distributed by Sony Pictures which planned to release it on December 9. But Paramount has stepped up to become the distributor for the family adventure film which is made in 3-D.

"Hugo Cabret" will tell the story of a 12-year-old orphan who lives in the walls of a Paris train station in 1930 and a mystery involving the boy, his late father and a robot. It is boosted by the performances of such actors as Asa Butterfield, Chloe Moretz, Ben Kingsley, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jude Law, Ray Winstone and Emily Mortimer
