In a star-studded panel, it is officially announced that Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo join the cast ensemble as Hawkeye and The Hulk respectively.

AceShowbiz - Marvel Studios brought more than it was expected at San Diego Comic Con 2010. Scheduled to present "Thor" and "Captain America: The First Avenger" on their Saturday, July 24 panel, the studio also unveiled and brought the major cast for "The Avengers".

"Captain America" started the panel with a footage introduced by producer Kevin Feige. Since they just started filming the movie earlier this month, there were not many scenes seen in the sneak peek. The snippet which features text narration about the story background, however, offers a look at Chris Evans as the titular character.

Director Joe Johnston, and the film's cast such as Evans and Hugo Weaving then joined Feige on the stage. They answered some questions from fans and the producer took a change to explain that Captain America suit seen in the footage was just a "test version of the suit."

Another footage from the film was brought forward, this time has more real scenes from the movie. It sees a scene where a group of Nazis tries to open a tomb in the center of a room before Red Skull arrives. As they manage to open the tomb, Red Skull takes a cube called Tesseract from the ancient skeleton and breaks it. He, apparently, looks for something more as he removes a small box coiled with golden serpents.

The footage marked the end of "Captain America" panel which was later followed by a presentation for "Thor". Director Kenneth Branagh and the cast members like Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Clark Gregg, Kat Dennings and Tom Hiddleston entered the venue for some discussion before they presented new footage in 3-D.

The footage opens with a scene showing Agent Coulson encountering Thor. It then jumps to capture shots in Asgard where Thor is condemned by his father, Odin, and is cast down to Earth. Thor then wakes up landing on Earth after Darcy and Jane Foster discover him. The next scenes show Thor acclimating to Earth and talking with Foster.

Thor is later seen ripping a sheet of plastic off a wall, revealing his hammer, but he is unable to lift it and begins screaming. Meanwhile in Asgard, Odin is seen dying and Loki ascends to the throne. Some battle scenes involving Thor, The Warriors Three and some unknown foes are also included in the footage. The sneak peeks ends with Agent Coulson appearing once again on the screen and he approaches something which is revealed to be Destroyer in the desert.

The Q&A session then began and Branagh teased the attendees that there will be "some Donald Blake surprises" in "Thor" and "there will be some touches that we think will be pleasing." As for her future in future Marvel movies, Portman said, "I am not in 'The Avengers' but I am in the future 'Thor' films if and when they happen." The footage was then played once again to close the "Thor" panel.

But that's not all for Marvel panel as they introduced the main cast for "The Avengers". Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Clark Gregg then returned to the stage, joined by the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson who have appeared in previous Marvel movies.

Additionally, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo and Joss Whedon also showed up. Downey Jr. then announced that Renner will play Clint Barton aka Hawkeye and and Ruffalo will replace Edward Norton as Bruce Banner aka the Hulk, while Whedon was once again confirmed to be the helmer. "I have had a dream all my life and it was not this good," Whedon shouted. "This is the Avengers!"
