'DWTS' Recap: Nicole Scherzinger Shines, Buzz Aldrin Flops

The Pussycat Dolls member who was criticized as an unfair addition to the show scored the highest with 25/30 while the retired astronaut got the least with 14/30.

AceShowbiz - "Dancing with the Stars" season 10 officially kicked off with the debut of Brooke Burke as the new co-host and the stars stepping out to the dance floor. The dance themes this week are Cha Cha Cha and Viennese Waltz.

Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke were the first couple to take the floor, dancing the Cha Cha Cha. Len Goodman said the sportsman is a diamond in the rough, Bruno Tonioli said he has a huge talent but needs to practice more. Carrie Ann Inaba said he has a raw talent which should be sharpened. The score: 6-6-6, total of 18/30.

Shannen Doherty and Mark Ballas did the Viennese Waltz. Bruno said it was a tough dance for beginner but Shannen managed to pull it off. Carrie said she over thought it the first time before loosening up at the end. Len said she is a picture of "ease and elegance" and advised her to work on the foot and posture. The score: 6-6-6, total of 18/30.

Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were next. Carrie liked her performance, calling her a nice surprise. Len called her funky monkey while Bruno told her to watch out for the arm and leg movements. The score: 7-7-7, a total of 21/30.

Jake Pavelka paired up with Chelsie Hightower. Len said Jake did pretty well but has to work on his posture. Bruno told him to calm down a bit so that when it comes to Rumba, he won't mess up. "What are you going to do in the rumba? Kill her?" Bruno said. Carrie said Jake has the easy-to-watch "bravado". The score: 7-6-6, a total of 20/30.

Niecy Nash took the floor with Louis Van Amstel. Bruno said she was a mix of sassiness and "born-again virgin". Carrie also emphasized on the sassiness but Len said despite Niecy's bubbly personality, the Cha Cha Cha came flat. The score: 7-5-6, a total of 18/30.

Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya did the Viennese Waltz and Carrie said, "You are good!". But she and Len agreed that he has to work on the foot. Len also advised him on the chemistry with Anna, saying "You're used to dancing alone. You're a couple now." Bruno just praised Evan, saying he's like a swan. The score: 8-7-8, a total of 23/30.

Buzz Aldrin was next, dancing with Ashly Costa whom he called a hot babe the first time they met. Len recalled a bit the moment Buzz walked on the moon and said he could not mark bravery. Bruno similarly said, "How can I possibly criticize a hero and a legend?" but added that Buzz was dancing like he put his moon boots on. The score: 5-4-5, a total of 14/30.

Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough got the most compliment from the judges. Bruno said it was "startling" and that he was "astounded". Carrie said she just set the bar this season but Len criticized her for lacking in the footwork and technique. The score: 9-7-9, a total of 25/30.

Aiden Turner is partnered with Edyta Sliwinska. Bruno said Aiden was too stiff on the hips, describing it as "a cha-cha-cha with nothing going in the groin." Carrie said it was disjointed while Len said the performance had everything he hated. The score: 5-5-5, a total of 15/30.

Kate Gosselin danced with Tony Dovolani. Len said she was looking nervous and that showed in the way she didn't flow. "The technique was terrible," Bruno said. Carrie reminded people that Kate is different from the rest because she is not a performer or athlete. The score: 6-5-5, a total of 16/30.

Pamela Anderson was dancing with the new pro Damian Whitewood. Bruno said all he thought about was sex, sex and more sex. Meanwhile, Carrie commented, "You were fully engaged, but that was a little much." Len thought it was overall a mess. The score: 7-6-8, a total of 21 out of 30.
