Despite the many attention she received after falling down on stage during her performance at the weekend American Music Awards (AMAs), Jennifer Lopez took the issue lightly, jokingly telling Ryan Seacrest in an interview for his KIIS FM radio show that her tumble was part of the choreography. "Did I trip a little bit?" she said coyly when Seacrest mentioned the slip during an interview that was conducted on Monday, November 23. "I don't even remember."
"Yeah, I meant to do that. That was part of the choreography," Lopez went on joking, before then going philosophical about the incident, stating "The measure of things is not what happens when you fall, it's how you recover when you fall." Above all, Lopez concluded, "It was fun, it was really fun. It was nice to be back on stage and doing my thing."
Besides, the songstress also thanked her singer husband Marc Anthony who has been very supportive toward her. "When I perform, this man is a nervous wreck. It is very cute," she raved. "Last night, he was very proud. He couldn't stop -- he was beaming."
Jennifer Lopez was performing her single "Louboutins" at the AMAs when she accidentally took a tumble halfway through the song. Turning the stage into a scene similar to that of a boxing ring, she and her backing dancers were also dressed like boxers. Halfway through the song, she climbed up the backs of her back-up dancers who had bent over to create a staircase. When reaching the top, she jumped off but failed to land smoothly on her feet. She slipped and fell on her bottom. She was quick to stand up though and finished her performance.
"Louboutins" is the first single from Lopez's new album "Love?", which the singer herself has confirmed to be due in "late February, early March" next year. Speaking of her upcoming set, she told Seacrest, "Love with a question mark behind it, because I think, it's the eternal question, it's something that after many experiences myself and even watching what everyone goes through around me ... it's the one thing that is still the most confusing."
