The casting rumors of "The Social Network", thrown in by Carson Reeves of ScriptShadow in early September, have been proven to be truthful. Variety broke out that Columbia Pictures and David Fincher have found their lead cast for the upcoming Facebook movie in Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake and Andrew Garfield.
Taking the role of founder Mark Zuckerberg is "Zombieland" star Eisenberg. Grammy Award-winning Timberlake is set to portray Sean Parker, the Napster co-founder who became Facebook's founding president, and "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" actor Garfield stars as co-founder Eduardo Saverin, who fell out with Zuckerberg as the social network became a financial juggernaut.
"The Social Network" is a movie about the founders of Facebook. Written by "Charlie Wilson's War" scribe Aaron Sorkin, it centers on the drama behind the Harvard dorm room creation of the popular social networking site by Mark Zuckerberg and his roommates.
"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" helmer David Fincher is set to direct. Scott Rudin, Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and Cean Chaffin will produce with Kevin Spacey serving as executive producer. Production will begin in October in Boston, before moving to Los Angeles.
