AceShowbiz - After hitting the 2009 Cannes' red carpet in May, "Inglourious Basterds" was brought to London on Thursday, July 23, for its U.K. premiere. Taking over Odeon Leicester Square, the special screening event got a touch of Hollywood glamor when the celebrities attending made their way along the red carpet.

One of the film's cast members present was Diane Kruger. Coming to the event, the 33-year-old actress wore a black Balmain mini-dress with exposed zipper as well as metal and leather chain. She completed her red carpet look with a pair of Christian Louboutin heels. The actress portraying double agent Bridget von Hammersmark was joined by co-star Christoph Waltz, director Quentin Tarantino and producer Lawrence Bender.

On the red carpet, Tarantino made time to talk about his thought on the movie and on leading actor Brad Pitt. "I'm very proud of this," the filmmaker shared. "I can't wait to see what the audience thinks of it." He then praised Pitt, "The first thing that I thought was how down to earth he is. Not that it's a surprise, you expect him to be. It was just a blast working with him."

While many of the cast ensemble, including Pitt, were absent during this U.K. premiere, several of Hollywood's celebrities were spotted attending. Rihanna came out wearing Alexander McQueen outfit topped with her faux-hawk hairdo. Academy Award-nominated actor Mickey Rourke and "Scream" star Neve Campbell were also making an appearance at the premiere. The Pretenders' frontwoman Chrissie Hynde and Boyzone's Ronan Keating were among the British guests.

To open in U.S theaters August 21, "Inglourious Basterds" is an ensemble war film set in Nazi-occupied France. It begins when Shosanna Dreyfus witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa. Narrowly escaping the brutal murder, Shosanna flees to Paris, changes her identity and plans a revenge. Elsewhere, Lieutenant Aldo Raine assembles a group of Jewish soldiers known as The Basterds to take down the leaders of The Third Reich.
