Shia LaBeouf finally confirms old rumors claiming he dated Rihanna, telling Playboy magazine they once had a dinner date following their first meeting through a mutual stylist.

The old rumors about Shia LaBeouf and Rihanna's alleged fling are proven true as the actor himself has acknowledged that matter during an interview with Playboy magazine. Recalling his first meeting with the "Umbrella" hitmaker, he said they met through a mutual stylist when he was filming "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" in Hawaii.
He immediately felt "infatuated" with her and was stunned when she tried to get in touch with him. "(I was) filming a sword fight when I got the message. I said to myself, 'Can this be my life?'" he stated. And so he then texted her and set up a dinner date for two.
"It never got beyond one date" though, Shia revealed. "The spark wasn't there. We weren't passionate about each other in that way, so we remain friends."
Reports on Shia LaBeouf and Rihanna dating first emerged in August 2007. At that time, it was reported that the rumored lovers had been spotted together several times, leading to further speculation that they actually had been together for a few months, yet wanted to take it "slow."
