Celebrating their first wedding anniversary on Thursday, April 30, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon threw a star-studded bash at the Palms Casino Resort's Palms Place. The venue was decorated with candle-lit tables and a sign that read, "Happy Anniversary Mariah and Nick!" US Weekly has reported.
There were 50 friends of the couple who attended the event, like L.A. Reid, Tyrese Gibson, Sanaa Lathan and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. just to name a few. All of them were treated to surf & turf, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes. For dessert, they had Creme Brulee and chocolate chip cookies.
After dinner, Mariah, Nick, and their companion headed to the Moon Nightclub, where the singer-DJ surprised his wife with a video, showcasing the best moments from their first year of marriage. Soon thereafter, 1,000 balloons were released into the sky as the Moon's roof opened and partygoers toasted the celebrity couple.
The peak of the celebration was when Mariah and Nick jointly cut a giant five-tiered pink and white Duncan Hines Yellow cake. After that, Nick hit the turntable, spun tunes, and told guests, "I just want to say happy anniversary to the woman I love. She is the most amazing person in the world. To all the people who thought this wouldn't work out, this is going to last forever. She is my soulmate. Here's to many, many years together."
