Christina Applegate and Robert Pattinson are included in People magazine's annual list of 100 Most Beautiful People in 2009, with the actress landing at No. 1 and the actor securing the 10th spot.

People magazine has just unveiled its pick of Hollywood's most beautiful people, putting the name of actress Christina Applegate at the No. 1 spot. The 37-year-old movie beauty is credited for her battle with breast cancer, which she publicly acknowledged in October last year.
Making the weekly magazine's annual list of 100 Most Beautiful People in 2009, Christina admits that she used to be a shy person. "I used to be really shy but I started to come into my own in my late 20s and early 30s," she says. "Now I'm not afraid to speak up in a room full of people and be a part of the conversation."
In further interview with the publication, Christina opens up about undergoing double mastectomy in July, followed by re-constructive breast surgery in November. "You have to get through the physical transformations then buck up, go to work and try to be the normal, happy Christina for everyone around you," she recalls. However, the actress admits that breast cancer battle has given her a gratifying "feeling of purpose."
Beside Christina, People also names Robert Pattinson on its annual list of 100 Most Beautiful People in 2009. The "Twilight" hottie is ranked at No. 10. He is quoted by the magazine as saying, "I don't get it. It's funny, you look the same for years and no one ever mentions it. Then suddenly it's a big deal," when talking about his sudden fame.
Several other Hollywood famous celebs who make the particular list include Halle Berry, Ciara, Zac Efron, and Christina Aguilera. Additionally, Indian actress Freida Pinto also secures a spot. The full list of People's 100 Most Beautiful People in 2009 is available for peek on the magazine's newest issue, which will go on sale this Friday, May 1.
