Jennifer Lopez was finally released from the maternity ward Monday, February 25 and was allowed to take her twins home.

AceShowbiz - Celebrity mother Jennifer Lopez was finally released from the maternity ward and allowed to take her twins home. The actress-singer was released from Long Island's North Shore University Hospital on Monday, February 25, it's been reported.

Lopez gave birth to twins; a boy and a girl, early Friday, February 22 in Long Island, N.Y. The baby girl was born at 12:12 A.M. and weighed 5 lbs. 7 oz., and the boy then followed at 12:23 A.M., weighing 6 lbs.

The babies are the first children for Lopez, 38, and the fourth for husband Marc Anthony, 39. He also has two sons and one daughter from two previous relationships. The names of the newborn twins have yet to be released though.

The proud parents have reportedly set up a $120,000 nursery. And meanwhile, a close friend of the couple told People that J.Lo has settled into her new role as a mom.

Speaking of the new parents, film producer Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas told People "She and Marc are so ready for a family. They love each other so much and built this beautiful life together. It feels like the only thing missing were these children and now they have them."

Elaine went on saying that Lopez "sounds very peaceful and happy and blissful" adding "She said, 'I can't take my eyes off of them.'"
