Though the writers are still continuing their strike, the WGA still announced the nominees for their 2008 Awards in which 'Juno' and 'No Country for Old Men' were named two of the nominees.

AceShowbiz - The pregnant teen tale "Juno" and the crime drama "No Country for Old Men" gathered nods from the on-strike Writers Guild of America as the Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) and East (WGAE) announced their nominations lineup for outstanding achievement in writing for the 2007 screen on Thursday, January 10.
"Juno" screenwriter Diablo Cody was nominated under the category of Original Screenplay. The nominee of 65th Golden Globe for the same category will be facing other original writers, Judd Apatow for "Knocked Up", Tamara Jenkins for "The Savages", Tony Gilroy for "Michael Clayton" and Nancy Oliver for "Lars and the Real Girl".
Under the category of Adapted Screenplay, WGA chose Ethan Coen and Joel Coen as one of the nominees for their creative work in adapting Cormac McCarthy's novel into "No Country for Old Men". The two writers as well as directors are going to be up against stiff competitions from Paul Thomas Anderson, Sean Penn, Ronald Harwood and James Vanderbilt.
Further, on the same day, WGAW has released a statement announcing that they won't be hosting the awards show until the writers' strike is over. On the other hand, the WGA East has not yet made a decision. Sherry Goldman, the WGAE representative, said, "We are exploring our options and we will let you know when we have made a decision." Despite the decision differences, the guilds are said to still be naming the 2008 Writers Guild Awards winners on February 9 simultaneously in Los Angeles and in Hudson Theater at the Broadway Millenium Hotel in New York.
