The Big Winners at the 2006 Q Awards

Oasis, Arctic Monkeys and U2 were the big winners at the 2006 Q Awards.

AceShowbiz - Oasis and Arctic Monkeys were double winners at the 2006 Q Awards, took place Oct 30th at London's Grosvenor House Hotel. Both bands won two awards each, with the British rock band took home the award for Best Act in the World Today along with the Classic Songwriter Award for Noel Gallagher.

The Arctic Monkeys, had four nominations, kept up the Best Album for "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I Am Not" and the People's Choice awards. Irish rock band U2's The Edge collected the Q Innovation in Sound Award, with the Irish rock band itself receiving the special one-time-only Q Award Of Awards: Band of Bands accolade.
