Jessica to be Rosie O'Donnell's first guest on "The View".

Jessica Simpson has been booked to be a guest on the first episode of "The View" to star new co-host Rosie O'Donnell, on September 5 later this year.
A source close to Simpson said it was "Rosie herself reached out to Jessica. When Jessica was just starting out, none of the big shows were interested in her, but Rosie took a chance on her and Jessica never forgot it".
O'Donnell, who was host of "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" from 1996 to 2002, is replacing Meredith Vieira, who will become Matt Lauer's new co-host on NBC's "Today Show" in the fall.
Speaking on her being tapped as a guest on the show indeed is a very good opportunity for Simpson to promote her latest album, "A Public Affair," slated for release Aug. 29.
