Alexandra Paul is one of the many electric car supporters arrested after blocking the path of trucks hauling a batch of electric cars to be destroyed

AceShowbiz -

Actress Alexandra Paul was one of the many other electric car suporters arrested on March 14, 2005 on suspicion of not obeying the officer when she once tried to block the path of trucks dragging a batch of electric cars to be destroyed. When the incident happened she and Colette Divine, who was also arrested with the same charge, were taking part on the crowds holding an around-the-clock vigil outside a General Motors (GM) center in Burbank, California, where more than 70 EV1 electric cars had been stored on route to a recycling plant in Mesa, Arizona, where they were to be destroyed.

Because of that protest the rest discontinued 28 cars were eventually sent on their way to Arizona, where they will be crushed. Bosses at GM have declined the group's offer to pay a total of $1.9 million for the vehicles, which they argue are good for the environment and will help make America less dependent on Middle East oil.
