Friends since childhood, Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone and Andy Samberg coined their name in the industry from the cramped west coast apartment they shared as comic start-ups. "The three of us have been friends forever," said Samberg. "Since junior high and high school, and then we all eventually moved in together, starting out, basically, doing joke music. Our first projects were always about mixing music with comedy."
