Temposhark was an English electronic rock band known for crafting sophisticated synth-pop and electronica during the late 2000s. Formed in London and Brighton, the group was the creative partnership of singer-songwriter Robert Diament and music producer Luke Busby. They gained significant attention for their melodic, emotionally resonant songs and a series of high-profile collaborations, securing their place in the indie-electronic landscape of the era.

The band's breakthrough arrived with the 2006 single "Joy," a track that encapsulated their signature blend of driving electronic rhythms and poignant lyricism. This success paved the way for their debut album, The Invisible Line, released in 2008. The record featured the notable duet "Not That Big" with acclaimed singer-songwriter Imogen Heap, a collaboration that expanded their audience. The album showcased their polished sound and artistic ambition, also including work with renowned producer and musician Guy Sigsworth, known for his work with Madonna and Björk.

Building on their debut, Temposhark released their second album, Threads, in 2010. The project reached the top 15 on the iTunes UK electronic albums chart, demonstrating their consistent appeal. Threads continued their tradition of collaborative work, featuring contributions from artists like Norwegian singer Kate Havnevik and producer Youth from the band Killing Joke. Their music found a wider audience through television placements, most notably being featured in the 2011 US advertising campaign for the acclaimed British period drama Downton Abbey.

Throughout their active years, Temposhark's discography was marked by a willingness to experiment within the electronic rock genre, working with diverse talents such as French artist Camille, producer MaJiKer, and violinist Sophie Solomon. After the release of Threads, the band's public activity gradually ceased. While no formal dissolution was announced, Temposhark remains a remembered and influential project from the 2000s UK electronic scene, with their recordings continuing to define a specific moment in alternative pop music.
