Kevin Rudolf Biography

news-detailsBefore jumping into singing career and signed to Cash Money Records/ universal Republic Records, Kevin Rudolf had been known as a songwriter and producer after he got his start because of a chance meeting with producer Timbaland in 2004. Rudolf then helped working on numerous Timbaland-produced hits, including Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right", Timbaland's "Release", and Black Eyed Peas' "My Style". Also, in August 2008, Kevin produced Kevin Lyttle's "Something About You" off Lyttle's latest album, "Fyah".

On his forthcoming debut album, "In the City", Rudolf also became the sole producer and writer behind his first single "Let It Rock" where he teams up with Hip Hop's best selling and most acclaimed Cash Money Franchise player Lil Wayne. Since released in July, the tune has climbed to number 5 on Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart and has reached number 14 on Billboard Pop 100 Singles chart. Also on Canadian Hot 100 Singles chart, it peaked at number 7.

Speaking of the tune from his upcoming effort, Rudolf stated that he worked with Wayne because the rapper loved the song as he did and he didn't take any advantage of Wayne's success. "I came up with the track at home back in June and played if for Wayne. He loved it and wanted to jump on it. We mixed it three days later and it was on the radio a few weeks after that," Rudolf explains. "Then, when Wayne did a million in a week, that's when we knew we had to put my record out now to take advantage of his success."

"In The City" was produced entirely by Rudolf except for an unnamed track handled by The Neptunes' Chad Hugo. To help promote the album, which hasn't had any release date, Rudolf schedules a tour before 2008 is over. "I've been hearing some crazy stuff, like 'Let It Rock' is Ryan Seacrest and Lindsay Lohan's favorite song right now. I have been very blessed and feel really lucky," Rudolf says. "There is no info or pictures of me anywhere, yet the track has taken a life of its own. The music is truly speaking for itself."
