Released September 30, 2017, "The Foreigner" is a thriller film directed by Martin Campbell and starring Jackie Chan, Pierce Brosnan, and Katie Leung. The film, based on the 1992 novel "The Chinaman" by Stephen Leather, tells the story of Quan Ngoc Minh, a Vietnamese restaurant owner whose daughter is killed in a terrorist attack. Quan, convinced that British authorities are not doing enough to investigate her death, takes justice into his own hands and kidnaps a high-ranking government official. In response, Liam Hennessy, a former Irish Republican Army operative turned government official, is tasked with tracking down Quan and bringing him to justice.
