'Ugly Betty' Gets New Promo Pic and Premiere Delay
October 03, 2009 11:10:09Already getting a late fall premiere, "Ugly Betty" is pushed even farther in the season. Instead of getting the imminent October 9 date, the first episode of the fourth season will arrive on TV screen a week later, October 16. The old date will be used as a re-run slot for ABC's new series in order to get more sampling.
In a press release, the Alphabet said that the show will get a two-hour premiere on the new date with Betty debuting her new look. In addition to the announcement, the network has also released a promotional picture which shows Betty center-stage and the main cast surrounded by butterflies. Betty has a more stylish outfit although she still keeps her red-rimmed glasses and the braces.

Meanwhile, Kristen Johnston will come aboard the show as an office temp named Helen whom she describes as "Amanda in 10 years" because she wears tight dresses and tries to get into the right clubs.

America Ferrera Is a Giant Hotdog on 'Ugly Betty'
August 26, 2009 02:08:28Entering its fourth season, "Ugly Betty" is still nowhere near pretty. America Ferrera was spotted filming an outdoor scene on Tuesday, August 25 with a giant hotdog as her costume. She was accompanied on the lower Manhattan set by Michael Urie who became the hotdog bun.
Daily Mail reported that the costume was uncomfortable enough to cause Ferrera pulling angry faces during the filming. Furthermore, due to the complication of the outfit, the actress asked her assistant to feed her banana during the break between scenes.

Confirmed: No 'Ugly Betty' in Paula Abdul's Future

The Los Angeles Times reported ABC has confirmed exclusively on Sunday, August 16, that talks between the network and the former "American Idol" judge have fallen apart, resulting in her out from the guest stars' list of the comedy drama series' season four.
Following the confirmation, TMZ came up with speculation on one of the reasons behind the talk break-down, pointing out that Paula still thinks there's a chance she'll return to "Idol". Going further with another speculation, the site suggested that the 47-year-old was upset at the series' producers for leaking the news she was talking to them about doing the show.

Paula Abdul Working for Mode on 'Ugly Betty'
August 12, 2009 11:08:28Paula Abdul is making a rebound from her "American Idol" departure by nabbing a role on ABC sitcom "Ugly Betty". There have been a couple of confirmations from EW and E! Online that Paula indeed is in talks to have a guest star appearance later in the fourth season.
According to EW, the role that she will tackle will be a new temp at Mode. She will bond with the company's secretary, Amanda. Paula has not yet given her comment about this, but she said on Monday, August 10 that she has been making rounds. "I've got a busy week filled with network meetings.
