First Promo of 'True Blood' Season 5 and New Teaser of 'Game of Thrones' Season 2
January 30, 2012 11:01:02Promoting its summer programs, HBO has debuted a teaser each for "True Blood" season 5 and "Game of Thrones" season 2. The first promo video for the vampire-themed series does not have any glimpse of new scene, but teases that "nothing stays buried forever" in Bon Temps.
On the other hand, the new sneak peek for the medieval fantasy series shares more scenes from the upcoming season. It sees King Joffrey threatening to kill Sansa to give her brother a message, and Daenerys determining to take what is hers "with fire and blood." Also, Tyrion tells his sister Cersei, "You might find it difficult to rule over millions who want you dead."

'True Blood' Recasts Sookie's Fairy Relative, Claude
January 24, 2012 03:01:28"True Blood" has added another actor to the cast line-up of its fifth season. Newcomer Giles Matthey has been cast for the role of Claude, the hot and mysterious fairy who was briefly portrayed by Neil Hopkins in the first episode of last season.
Matthey, who has appeared on "The Good Wife" in an October episode, will not be a series regular. He, however, is booked for a multi-episode arc and the part reportedly could develop into something even larger.

Official: Christopher Meloni Lands Regular Role on 'True Blood'
December 14, 2011 10:12:36Christopher Meloni is officially a new series regular on "True Blood". Confirming previous reports that the Elliot Stabler of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" was in talks to join the cast of the hit vampire-themed series, executive producer Alan Ball has told TVLine that the 50-year-old actor will play "an ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands."
The negotiations between Meloni and HBO started weeks ago. This role marks his return to the cable network after he played bisexual criminal Chris Keller on prison drama "Oz", which ran from 1998 to 2003.

November 12, 2011 09:11:32"True Blood" will get an extra dose of werewolves in the upcoming season 5. The HBO series is currently casting for more lycanthropes and Joe Manganiello, who plays werewolf Alcide, gushed that the pack will be all over the show.
"Oh my god, I can't f***ing wait," the 34-year-old hunk expressed his excitement about the werewolf plot. "The fact that they're basically busy casting an entire new pack of werewolves is unbelievable. There's going to be like a werewolf show within the show this this year, so I'm like a kid about it!"

'True Blood' Casts Lucy Griffiths as Eric's Sister
November 03, 2011 11:11:20"True Blood" has found Eric Northman's sister in British actress Lucy Griffiths. The 25-year-old beauty, who is best known for her role as Maid Marian on BBC's series "Robin Hood", will join the HBO hit show in season 5 as a series regular.
Like Alexander Skarsgard's Eric, Griffiths' vampire character Nora was also created by Godric. She is working as a double agent within the Vampire Authority and described as beautiful, intelligent, intimidating and a very good liar. She loves Eric deeply, but has dedicated her life to a higher purpose.

Details of Two New Characters on 'True Blood' Season 5 Unveiled
October 18, 2011 02:10:40Details of two new characters on "True Blood" season 5 are unveiled while a casting call for these roles is being put out. According to Entertainment Weekly, one of the new faces is someone who is having a history with Eric.
Called Nora, she is a progeny of Godric and described as a beautiful and intelligent 25-to-35 something who plays a double agent within the Vampire Authority. Anyone cast on the role will join the regular cast ensemble and may appear in some scenes featuring a little nudity.

Later Nan visited Bill and Eric to tell them that she has quit the AVL and the Authority. She asked the two guys to join forces with her to harness Sookie's powers, but Bill and Eric turned down the offer. When Nan insulted Bill and Eric, they attacked Nan and her two troops.

'True Blood' Officially Renewed for Season 5
August 12, 2011 10:08:26HBO has given a greenlight to season 5 of "True Blood". Announcing the renewal on Thursday, August 11 was Michael Lombardo, president of HBO Programming, who credits Alan Ball and "his gifted team" for making "the greatest thrill ride on TV".
While Lombardo is "thrilled that 'True Blood' continues to enjoy a phenomenal reception from both subscribers and critics", Ball chims in, "I remain amazed and delighted by the enthusiasm of our viewers. I can't imagine having more fun than this." The new season, which will debut in summer 2012, will consist of another 12 episodes.
