'True Blood' Casting Bill's First Wife

A vintage-looking woman is sought to fill in the role of Bill Compton's first wife on "". The HBO show will bring back the image of Bill's family before he was sent to the Civil War and turned as a vampire on his way back home by a vampire woman he was getting food from.

In the casting news for Caroline Compton, it is specified that the character lives in 1866 as a "lovely, very strong, brave, well-bred and well-spoken Southern woman". Said to be a "great scene", the role involves Caroline pulling a shotgun on the intruder into her house, clearly prepared to use it, till she realizes it's her husband Bill, whom she was sure had died in the War.

Queen of Louisiana Sophie-Ann may not be the only lesbian on "". After creator Alan Ball projected his thought of having other characters to have a same-sex relationship, actress has stepped forward to express her willingness to participate in that storyline.

Bauer plays Pam the sidekick of Eric and the screener of Fangtasia. Ball said he thinks Pam has a "lesbian vibe", explaining further, "I don't know that that's all she is, but she certainly does seem to appreciate the women."

The third season of "" has begun casting new characters who will either be a regular, a recurring or a guest. Calls are made for the actors to fill in the roles as a new vampire, Sam's brother, and a gang crew who will play a part in torturing Bill.

The new vampire would be Franklin Mott who is in Charlaine Harris' third book "Club Dead". Unlike in the book version, the show is looking forward to present Mott as a "sexy" 25 to mid 40s character instead of an early 60s man. Mott has a lot of scenes with Tara because he has "an immediate and torrid connection" to her after meeting at a local bar.

Alan Ball Confirms Death on 'True Blood' Season 3

Perhaps not too surprising, there will be another death on "" next season. The creator and executive producer of the vampire series, Alan Ball, spilled to TV Guide that at least one character won't survive in the third season when the show returns in summer 2010.

"Somebody is going to bite the dust and it's going to be really good to see them get what they deserve," Ball said. This can only mean that the lead characters like Sookie, Bill, Jason and Tara are out of the list. Making it clearer, Ball added that it would be "a person we'll be happy to see go."

In his revealing interview with Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly, the creator of the vampire series even offered the question himself. [Spoiler Alert] He said, the person using silver chain to abduct Bill was Hoyt's mother, Maxine.

Whether he was joking or not, the possibility seemed distant because Maxine hardly has any motive to take Bill as hostage. Also, the mysterious person wore a pair of black gloves while holding the silver chain, which leads to the speculation that it may as well be someone who is susceptible to silver, vampires.

Alan Ball spared sometime talking about his show "" which will wrap up its second season on Sunday, September 13. Among the things that he discussed in an interview with TV Squad are the facts that a few members will no longer be seen in season three while some are getting more screen time.

Asked whether Eric, who already became a big part of season 2, will finally get together with Sookie, Ball said, "I can't tell you if they're going to get together, because that's going to ruin the anticipation." He added, "But, if you've been following season two, he's definitely been doing things to make her more vulnerable and more susceptible to him. And he does want her, he's just not sure why. With only one more episode left in the second season, "" is airing a teaser which utilizes 's "Corrupt". The teaser for the season 2 finale was played on Sunday night without the band but HBO has since released a longer version online that includes scenes of the band recording the song.

The "True Blood" scenes are those from the title while the glimpses of the band are cut from the "Studio Sessions" featurette on the "" box set. "Universe" is the twelfth studio album from the rock band which was released back on April 20, and "Corrupt" is the song that never got out as an individual sale.

HBO has started pushing the accelerator to promote the second season of "". In the "The Buzz" segment, the cast from the first season as well as a bunch of new bloods are speaking of their respective character's contribution to the story.

Director Michael Lehmann said that non-human Maryann will be a huge part of the story in the second season. The actress behind the character itself, , said that Maryann's agenda will be revealed. A new face is found in Ashley Jones who plays a new waitress at Merlotte's, and two familiar faces back for a larger story are Mariana Klaveno aka Lorena and Michael McMillian aka Rev. Steve Newlin.

The second season of "" is getting interesting. A major actress is added to the cast to play the "charming, wily, ruthless and wise" Sophie-Ann LeClerq, the vampire Queen of Louisiana for two episodes towards the end of the season.

Entertainment Weekly, in its exclusive report said that ("Once and Again") will be the 500-year-old vampire from France. Her character is an important figure, a diplomat who has connections to famous icons in history. In the book the show is based upon, Sophie-Ann is romantically linked to Sookie's cousin Hadley who was later murdered. There is no clue yet whether Alan Ball will follow the storyline.

Gearing up the anticipation for "" season 2, HBO has released a clip for the vampire drama series. This would be the HD and official version of the clip that was played back at the True Blood panel at Paley Festival on April 13 and leaked hours later.

In the clip, Sookie travels with Bill and Jessica in a car to return to Bon Temps. But arguments soon starts between Sookie and Bill while Jessica is crying blood about her family. Sookie is putting sympathy for Jessica's longing for her family but Bill insists that vampires do not have families. Sookie then emphasized on the fact that Bill had glamorized her in the first place.

In the end of the first season, incarcerated Jason was approached by the president of the organization which is against vampires rights. Jason, is seen in one pic standing with a woman who is a member of Light of Day Institute. Creator Alan Ball said previously, "Jason goes into the Fellowship of the Sun church in a big way and is surprised by what he finds there."

There will be a new villain coming to "" fictional Louisiana town in Bon Temps and meeting the residents. "There's a new supernatural creature in town, one I've never seen on TV," says a source on the set. "Even vampires are scared of this thing. We'll be seeing a lot more of Eric () this year. Date Revealed for 'True Blood' Season 2 Premiere

A date had popped out, suggesting the return of vampire flick "" on TV. While HBO had set the premiere target to be in either June or July, a more particular date, June 14 has been thrown out as the airing of first episode in the second season.

Allegedly, Charlaine Harris, author of the book the series is based upon, has mentioned the date on her website in a post dated March 9. In a just-released casting scoop by EW's Michael Ausiello, it is revealed that Gram will be brought back to life in "". Not as a supernatural phenomenon, but the character which is played by Lois Smith, will appear in a series of flashback scenes in the second season.

Gram aka Adele Stackhouse, the grand mother of Sookie and Jason Stackhouse, was killed in season one while defending herself against a serial killer in Bon Temps who actually wanted to kill Sookie. At least two people are going to be hurt in the episode called "You'll Be the Death of Me" where the real serial killer will finally be revealed. who portrays Sam in the series confirms this to Access Hollywood, saying that a death will occur. Blood Red Carpet for Vampire Series 'True Blood' Premiere

Presenting their latest novel adaptation for television series, HBO rolled down a blood red carpet in front of The Cinerama Dome in Hollywood to celebrate the L.A. premiere of "". The special first screening event was held on Wednesday, September 4, three days before the series will be aired for the first time on September 7.

The evening celebration saw mostly the stars of the series that include , , , , Jim Parrack, and . Aside from the stars, series creator Alan Ball and Southern Vampire Mysteries books author Charlaine Harris were also in attendance.
