New 'True Blood' Season 6 Trailer: Governor Burrell Declares War on Vampires
May 24, 2013 10:05:09Governor Truman Burrell declares a war in a new promo video for "True Blood" season 6. The new character gets the spotlight in the trailer as he delivers his speech, the footage of which is mixed with scenes teasing the hunt for and torture on vampires.
"When humans can no longer walk on these streets at night without fearing for their lives, then we have to take our streets back," he declares. Closing down vampire-run businesses, he also urges people to arm themselves with guns and wooden bullets to protect themselves against the bloodsuckers.

New Photos of 'True Blood' Season 6 Give a Look at New Characters
May 11, 2013 12:05:59A slew of stills from the upcoming sixth season of "True Blood" have just arrived as the HBO vampire series is getting closer to the premiere day. Some of the new characters that will make their debut on the show are previewed on the images.
Among others are Rutger Hauer, Rob Kazinsky and Jurnee Smollett-Bell. Hauer will play a sinister guy who has mysterious ties to Sookie and Jason, Kazinsky will portray a new Fae love interest to Sookie, and Smollett-Bell will be a do-gooder Nicole.

Sookie herself complains, "I can barely remember the last time I wasn't in danger," and says, "I want my life back." However, she can't get away from Bill who still plays god. As for her love life, she seemingly finds herself a new man as she's featured having a sex romp on her couch.

March 30, 2013 01:03:42HBO has set a premiere date for "True Blood" season 6. The hit supernatural series will return with the new installment Sunday, June 16 at 9 P.M. ET. Unlike the previous seasons which usually consist of 12 episodes each, the next season will only have 10 episodes due to Anna Paquin's pregnancy.
Brian Buckner is the current showrunner of "True Blood", replacing Mark Hudis who left the show in the middle of the sixth season production "to focus on development under his overall deal" with HBO.

A Polish-American actress and model, Wydra is best known for playing Dominika the green card wife of Hugh Laurie's Dr. Gregory House on the medical drama series. She has also appeared in an episode of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and 2011's drama comedy "Crazy, Stupid, Love.". She also lands a role in upcoming sci-fi film "Europa Report".

'True Blood' Finds New Showrunner to Replace Mark Hudis
March 09, 2013 10:03:28"True Blood" is getting new showrunner again after being left by Alan Ball at the end of season 5. HBO announces that Mark Hudis, who was tapped to replace Ball last May, has stepped down from the position and is being replaced by Brian Buckner.
A spokesperson for the premium cable network says in a statement, "Mark Hudis has stepped down as showrunner of 'True Blood' to focus on development under his overall deal with the network." Ball signed the two-year deal the same time he took the role as "True Blood" showrunner last summer.

'True Blood' Casts Rutger Hauer as Series Regular

Golden Globe winner Rutger Hauer is tapped to take a regular role on the HBO drama series, playing Macklyn who is described by TVLine as "a mysterious and sinister figure with deep ties to Sookie and Jason."
Hauer is best known for his villainous roles such as Roy Batty in Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner" and John Ryder in 1986 horror film "The Hitcher". He won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor through his portrayal of Lieutenant Aleksandr Pechersky in 1987 TV movie "Escape from Sobibor". His other credits include "Sin City", "Batman Begins", "The Rite" and the upcoming "Dracula 3D".
