Benedict Cumberbatch: 'Sherlock' Will Return for Season 4

"Sherlock" will return for at least two more seasons, according to Benedict Cumberbatch. The British actor, who plays the titular detective on the hit BBC series, revealed during a recent interview that season 4 had been greenlit in addition to season 3, which will start the production Monday, March 18.

"We've agreed to two more series [British term for season] but I could get into trouble for saying that," he told RadioTimes. "All I know at the moment is I'm doing these three [episodes for season 3] and another three [episodes for season 4]."

Keywords of 'Sherlock' Season 3 Revealed

"Sherlock" creator Steven Moffat has dropped three keywords of the upcoming season 3. "So. The three tease words for the next run of Sherlock ... Rat. Wedding. Bow," he tweeted on Friday, August 24 after promising to share the clues the day before.

He previously noted that last season's keywords were "Woman, Hound, Fall," which were all key elements in three episodes of season 2. Thus, the newly-unveiled clues could mean that the new episodes will use the stories of "The Giant Rat of Sumatra", "The Noble Bachelor" and "His Last Bow".
