Irina Shabeyeva Wins 'Project Runway' Season 6
November 20, 2009 11:11:57Irina Shabeyeva, a 27-year-old designer, has won "Project Runway" season 6. The finale airing on Thursday, November 19 finally revealed the winner who has actually been crowned since February this year. The show was in the middle of the broadcasting right battle between Bravo TV and Lifetime late last year.
Irina won over Carol Hannah and Althea after her final designs that opt a warrior woman concept impressed the judges. Michael Kors said while the concept was not exactly original, the result turned up admirable. Heidi Klum added that she would want to own Irina's collection.

Daniel Vosovic Won 'Project Runway: All-Star Challenge'
August 22, 2009 10:08:57Daniel Vosovic came out as champion of the champions when he grabbed the winning title on "Project Runway: All-Star Challenge". The special edition that was aired prior to the sixth season of "Project Runway" crowned the season 2 runner up who beat the show's other former contestants such as Sweet P, Santino Rice and Uli Herzner with his athletic line.
"I feel so much more confident. I know the woman that I'm dressing and my point of view is much more clear this time around," Vosovic commented on his victory. "Hearing people who have been in this industry for a collective amount of 50, 60 years - this is some experience that we're taking about. To have these industry people say, 'Daniel, we're proud of what you created and we want to see more of you,' that hit it home for me."

New 'Project Runway' Promo Teases on Guest Judges
August 19, 2009 04:08:07Airing under its new home, "Project Runway" is releasing a promo of the long-delayed season 6. The footage, which emphasizes that the show has switched to Lifetime, shares also a brief look at Eva Longoria and Lindsay Lohan as guest judges.
Not given a sneak peek are the guest appearances of Rebecca Romijn and Christina Aguilera who have been confirmed to help Heidi Klum and the other judges in selecting the rightful designers. "What has been really great is that we've had so many great stars come on the show, which I think a lot of people enjoy watching," Klum said previously.

Nicole Kidman Coming to 'Project Runway'
August 18, 2009 04:08:45When Lifetime said that a set of all-star designers will compete in the special edition of "Project Runway", it didn't mention the plan to have a big star coming as a guest. Considered as a fashion icon, Nicole Kidman reportedly will pay the show a visit to help the contestants with their challenges.
"Project Runway: All Star Challenge" is developed as a warm-up episode for the show's season 6 which premiere has long been denied from being aired. Designers who had competed in the previous seasons are brought back to get a second shot at winning $100,000 cash prize. There is no elaborate detail about what Nicole will do there other than the report from Access Hollywood that she will "help set up one of the challenges" for the eight designers.

Meet the Cast of 'Project Runway: All Star Challenge'

Called "Project Runway: All Star Challenge", the two-hour special edition will serve as the warm up for the long-delayed sixth season premiere on Lifetime.
The eight designers will compete for a $100,000 prize in cash. Once again they will create a design that will have to suit the theme and the judges' favor before one winner is declared. Coming back as the mentor on the workroom is Tim Gunn and returning to criticize the all-star designers are Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia.

'Project Runway' Season 6 Designers Revealed
July 10, 2009 09:07:00The veil covering long-delayed season 6 of "Project Runway" is taken off. 16 designers who have participated and finished shooting for the fashion competition in February this year are revealed and three of them come from as far as Russia, Bosnia and the Republic of Georgia.
Nicolas Putvinksi is a 27 year-old born in Moscow who has been living in New York. He is an F.I.T. graduate whose design commissioned for W and Vogue, but Tim Gunn thinks he is a bit of a fashion snob.

Legal Battle Resolved, 'Project Runway' Season 6 to Air in Summer

"The Weinstein Company will pay NBCU for the right to move Project Runway to Lifetime. All of the parties are pleased with the outcome," the networks said in a joint statement. No particular air date has been thrown for the sixth season yet. Words on the block are, there will be guest appearances by Rebecca Romijn, Christina Aguilera and Eva Longoria.

'Project Runway' Shot Season Finale but Kept Finalists Hidden

The sixth season's final three had their collections shown on the catwalk on Friday, February 20 and the event was taped as the season finale of the reality show which still has no premiere date after the January 2009 delay.
The show has been in the middle of broadcasting battle between Bravo TV and Lifetime, and this consequently brings an effect to the runway show when the finalists were kept hidden while their designs were being displayed. "Unfortunately nobody has seen the show yet. I'm a little bit sad for our designers that they don't get that recognition today. We're all in a bit of a limbo," Heidi Klum said.

Bravo Arranges 'Project Runway' Duplicate, 'Fashion House'

The network has begun to open a recruitment, looking for talented designers to join the new competition series. As stated on Bravo's official website, "We're currently accepting applications from talented designers to take part in a fashion design competition series." The site also announces the show's upcoming tryouts in four cities starting next Sunday, November 2. A live casting call for fashion designers has been set for New York at a hotel in Chelsea next month.

'Project Runway', and the Winner Is Leanne Marshall

All the judges including "Runway" mentor, Tim Gunn who replaced Jennifer Lopez who suffered foot injury, agreed that the designer from Portland won the competition because of her modern, clean look, and sustainable fabrics design. But they also argued that Marshall's final collection which were shown at New York's Fashion Week had too many flaps or petals. 'Project Runway' Move to Lifetime Halted After Court Decision
September 27, 2008 01:09:07"Project Runway" will not be so fast moving from Bravo TV to Lifetime. New York State Supreme Court ruled on Friday, September 26 that the reality show is still under the right of NBC Universal, which is the parent company of Bravo.
With the court decision, Lifetime will not be able to go on with the airing of the show nor can it develop a spin-off to the show, which has previously been planned. The sixth season was initially planned to be broadcast in January 2009 after delayed once from the November 2008 schedule.

Jennifer Lopez Bows Out of 'Project Runway' Finale

Taking the finale's excitement down a notch, Access Hollywood reported that host/executive producer Klum has announced the dropping out of the 39-year-old from her participation as guest judge on Friday, September 12, when her appearance was scheduled to be taped.
Revealing the fact in New York at the"Project Runway" Season Five Finale Fashion show, the famed model noted that the cancellation was made due to a foot injury. Following Klum's announcement over the matter, Lopez's representative gave out confirmation on her exit, but insisted that the wife of singer Marc Anthony will still join Nautica Malibu Triathlon in Malibu, California.

The reality show will wrap up its fifth season in mid-October and serving the purpose, Lopez reportedly has been invited to shoot her episode this Friday.
Previously one of the regular judges, Nina Garcia, hinted that the finale will be "unbelievable", adding that "the guest star is one of the most iconic women around. It's going to take the cake." Lifetime Delaying New Season of 'Project Runway'
September 06, 2008 01:09:32The sixth installment of reality show "Project Runway" is not so imminent with the announcement from Lifetime that they will pick up the new season only in January 2009. It was scheduled previously that the show would start in November this year, but the network said that they need more time to develop the new cycle so that there will be longer time to promote the show.
"With this move, the series will resume its traditional cycle of two seasons per year," a spokesperson from Lifetime said. "We look forward to ringing in the New Year by giving Project Runway loyal fans a superlative season six with Heidi, Tim, Nina, and Michael. The new date and time will be announced soon." Lifetime was handed the screening rights from Bravo TV in Spring for a five years deal.
