Irina Shabeyeva Wins 'Project Runway' Season 6

Irina Shabeyeva, a 27-year-old designer, has won "" season 6. The finale airing on Thursday, November 19 finally revealed the winner who has actually been crowned since February this year. The show was in the middle of the broadcasting right battle between Bravo TV and Lifetime late last year.

Irina won over Carol Hannah and Althea after her final designs that opt a warrior woman concept impressed the judges. Michael Kors said while the concept was not exactly original, the result turned up admirable. added that she would want to own Irina's collection.

Daniel Vosovic came out as champion of the champions when he grabbed the winning title on "Project Runway: All-Star Challenge". The special edition that was aired prior to the sixth season of "" crowned the season 2 runner up who beat the show's other former contestants such as Sweet P, Santino Rice and Uli Herzner with his athletic line.

"I feel so much more confident. I know the woman that I'm dressing and my point of view is much more clear this time around," Vosovic commented on his victory. "Hearing people who have been in this industry for a collective amount of 50, 60 years - this is some experience that we're taking about. To have these industry people say, 'Daniel, we're proud of what you created and we want to see more of you,' that hit it home for me."

Airing under its new home, "" is releasing a promo of the long-delayed season 6. The footage, which emphasizes that the show has switched to Lifetime, shares also a brief look at and as guest judges.

Not given a sneak peek are the guest appearances of and who have been confirmed to help and the other judges in selecting the rightful designers. "What has been really great is that we've had so many great stars come on the show, which I think a lot of people enjoy watching," Klum said previously.

When Lifetime said that a set of all-star designers will compete in the special edition of "", it didn't mention the plan to have a big star coming as a guest. Considered as a fashion icon, reportedly will pay the show a visit to help the contestants with their challenges.

"Project Runway: All Star Challenge" is developed as a warm-up episode for the show's season 6 which premiere has long been denied from being aired. Designers who had competed in the previous seasons are brought back to get a second shot at winning $100,000 cash prize. There is no elaborate detail about what Nicole will do there other than the report from Access Hollywood that she will "help set up one of the challenges" for the eight designers.

Some of the notable designers who have taken part in the previous seasons of "" will be back for one more round on the reality show. Called "Project Runway: All Star Challenge", the two-hour special edition will serve as the warm up for the long-delayed sixth season premiere on Lifetime.

The veil covering long-delayed season 6 of "" is taken off. 16 designers who have participated and finished shooting for the fashion competition in February this year are revealed and three of them come from as far as Russia, Bosnia and the Republic of Georgia.

Nicolas Putvinksi is a 27 year-old born in Moscow who has been living in New York. He is an F.I.T. graduate whose design commissioned for W and Vogue, but Tim Gunn thinks he is a bit of a fashion snob.

The sixth season's final three had their collections shown on the catwalk on Friday, February 20 and the event was taped as the season finale of the reality show which still has no premiere date after the January 2009 delay.

Bravo has prepared for the departure of the network's ex hit fashion design series, "" to Lifetime. It has been confirmed that Bravo has created a duplicate of "Runway" which is tentatively titled "Fashion House".

The network has begun to open a recruitment, looking for talented designers to join the new competition series. As stated on Bravo's official website, "We're currently accepting applications from talented designers to take part in a fashion design competition series." The site also announces the show's upcoming tryouts in four cities starting next Sunday, November 2. A live casting call for fashion designers has been set for New York at a hotel in Chelsea next month.

For the first time in history, "" season 5, ran all female finalists on its final judgment day, October 15. Leanne Marshall came as the winner, followed by Korto Momolu on the second place, and Kenley Collins on the third.

"" will not be so fast moving from Bravo TV to Lifetime. New York State Supreme Court ruled on Friday, September 26 that the reality show is still under the right of NBC Universal, which is the parent company of Bravo.

With the court decision, Lifetime will not be able to go on with the airing of the show nor can it develop a spin-off to the show, which has previously been planned. The sixth season was initially planned to be broadcast in January 2009 after delayed once from the November 2008 schedule.

Lifetime Delaying New Season of 'Project Runway'

The sixth installment of reality show "" is not so imminent with the announcement from Lifetime that they will pick up the new season only in January 2009. It was scheduled previously that the show would start in November this year, but the network said that they need more time to develop the new cycle so that there will be longer time to promote the show.

"With this move, the series will resume its traditional cycle of two seasons per year," a spokesperson from Lifetime said. "We look forward to ringing in the New Year by giving Project Runway loyal fans a superlative season six with Heidi, Tim, Nina, and Michael. The new date and time will be announced soon." Lifetime was handed the screening rights from Bravo TV in Spring for a five years deal.
