'Melrose Place' 1.12 Preview: Look Who's Cheating

Before that, Jonah and Riley decide to head to Las Vegas to elope but the day doesn't quite go as planned. Meanwhile, Lauren calls David after she gets in trouble with one of her male clients and Auggie confesses his true feelings for Riley. Also, Amanda bonds with Violet over Sydney, but of course Amanda has an ulterior motive in getting to know Violet.

Jessica Simpson Said 'Melrose Place' Is 'Crap'
November 03, 2009 10:11:30The fact that Ashlee Simpson's "Melrose Place" character has been written off is pissing her sister Jessica Simpson. The older Simpson wrote on her Twitter, "CW catching up on MP. who writes this crap?i have had bad scripts to work with,but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press."
Ashlee is canned from "Melrose Place" after starring in the new series for several episodes in season 1. When the show was promoting its season premiere, her character Violet was made one of the regulars. Jessica had been keen on promoting the show while Ashlee was still attached, reminding her Twitter followers to watch it on Tuesday nights.

'Melrose Place' Says Bye Bye to Violet and Augie

Ashlee Simpson and Colin Egglesfield will be let go from "Melrose Place" after a January episode, something which is announced right after the show received a five additional episodes order. In an interview with EW, exec producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer explained the exit and revealed that it had been their plan all along.
One thing that contributes in the characters cut is the "Who murdered Sydney?" storyline. The killer will be revealed in a December episode and after that, there's not much left for Simpson's Violet and Egglesfield's Augie. "Well, we always knew that this murder mystery would end in episode 12. And we always knew that character of Violet would be instrumental in that as a suspect, and Augie as well. And once that murder mystery was solved, she would go on her way. That was the original plan going into the development of the show," Slavkin explained.

'Vampire Diaries' and 'Melrose Place' Survive the Ax
October 22, 2009 10:10:21"The Vampire Diaries" and "Melrose Place" are given more episodes order, but only one gets a full-season pick up. While it's obvious that "Vampire" stands out among the new shows by The CW this Fall, it is questionable why the network chooses to extend the poorly-rated "Melrose".
"Vampire", which is strong in the women 18-34 demographic has been CW's pride in the Thursday nights slot. With its DVR playback added to the numbers, "Vampire" has the average of 4.5 million viewers and consequently becomes the network's most-watched show this season. The nine back episodes order brings a total of 22 episodes.

First Look at Heather Locklear's 'Melrose Place' Return
October 15, 2009 11:10:31The promotional pictures of Heather Locklear's return to "Melrose Place" have been released. The pics are taken from the "Cahuenga" episode which is airing on November 17. According to the refurbished series' regular, Katie Cassidy, Locklear's Amanda Woodward is now involved in the publicity world, meaning she will cross path with Cassidy's Ella Simms.
After a few "no"s, Locklear finally said "yes" to reprise her vixen role last month. Executive producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer said in a statement, "Heather's involvement in the show is something we've been working on for some time as we couldn't imagine creating and producing this show without the iconic character's inclusion."

Preview of 'Melrose Place' 1.05: Canon
September 30, 2009 01:09:38Things get a little bit out of hands for Lauren in the next episode of "Melrose Place". The med student is torn between going on a shopping date with Riley for her wedding and impressing her new boss Wendi (guest star Kelly Carlson) who just set her up on a "date". Through the preview, it is revealed that Lauren goes with the latter plan and she gets into trouble for it.
Meanwhile, who murders Sydney is still a mystery but as a result of Jane's tip, the police bring Ella in for questioning. Another crime accusation is happening on the other side when a stunned Jonah is said stealing a diamond necklace from a mansion he videotaped for a realtor. He becomes even more upset after Ella mentions a similar necklace that she saw in David's apartment.

A hippie recovering from alcohol addiction is found in Auggie Kirkpatrick while a med student struggling with financial situation is found in Lauren Bishop. Another one is Violet Foster who is described as a "sex kitten" from a small town.

It has been reported that Grant Show, who played Jake Hanson in the original series, has refused an offer to reprise his role for the new spin-off tentatively titled "Melrose Place 2.0".
To TVGuide, Show confesses that he has been approached by The CW's executive to make another appearance for his Jake Hanson's character, but has declined it. "I don't think I want to do it. I don't think they need me. I'd just be 'the old guy' on the show, and that's not the kind of thing I want to do," Show says.

On the possibility of her, reprising the role, Garth says "No. I...no. I think they should keep it separate. And no, I don't want to do it." Garth made a return to "Beverly Hills, 90210" spin-off titled "90210" this Fall, playing Taylor.
