'How I Met Your Mother' Officially Hires Amanda Peet
November 21, 2009 11:11:45Neil Patrick Harris' dream comes true quite fast as it is announced that Amanda Peet will indeed guest star on "How I Met Your Mother". There is no clue yet what kind of role Peet will play but TV Guide said her cameo will be in a January episode.
On Thursday, November 19, Harris who plays Barney in the sitcom said that he has Peet in mind for a guest star. "You know, she's never guest-starred on any shows before and plus, she's already worked with Jason Segel once on 'Gulliver's Travels'," he told E! Online. Segel is Marshall in "HIMYM".

October 15, 2009 03:10:03Lily's extended family will be exposed more on "How I Met Your Mother". After casting Chris Elliott to be her estranged father, the show signed "Gilmore Girls" actress Marion Ross to be her grandmother. TV Guide said that the character named Rita will appear in November 23 episode titled "Maple Swirls" which celebrates the Turkey Day.
Lily and her friends visit her grandparents who have been plagued by Elliott's Mickey aka their son. Rita and her husband are hosting a Thanksgiving dinner. There is still no word on who will be the grandfather.

Tim Gunn and Kenny Rogers Added to 'How I Met Your Mother'
October 07, 2009 02:10:16Two more names are mentioned as the special guest stars coming to "How I Met Your Mother" this season. Apart from hiring "Project Runway" mentor Tim Gunn for the 100th episode, the show is also tapping musician Kenny Rogers to show up in the October 19 episode.
Gunn, true to his real job, will be a personal tailor and fashion consultant for Barney who is trying to fix a "major league 'Suit Catastrophe' ". Craig Thomas, co-creator of the series told Chicago Tribune, "Tim is basically like Barney's ER physician for a serious suit emergency." Barney in fact is a character in the comedy show who takes suits very seriously.

Rachel Bilson Joins 'How I Met Your Mother', Possibly as Mama
October 03, 2009 10:10:28When the producers of "How I Met Your Mother" talked about adding a new character for its 100th episode, they didn't mention that they would cast an actress as established as Rachel Bilson. The former "The O.C." star has been hired for a one-time stint, although many believe that she would fill in the pivotal role of the mother.
In September, Executive Producer Craig Thomas told EW that in celebration of the milestone, the show will get some serious "mother action" during the episode. He added, "It'll be the closest Ted's ever come to [discovering who she is]. He's getting a step closer every episode this season, and episode 100 [we] kind of go bananas with it."

Kardashian will join "The Hills" couple, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, who previously has been confirmed to make a cameo appearance on the sitcom series.
Furthermore, CBS network has announced that Kardashian's debut on "How I Met Your Mother" will be on the same episode where Heidi and Spencer will be featured. Like them, Kardashian will also play magazine cover version in the episode which is tentatively entitled "Benefits".

Further report states that Heidi and Spencer will have the same set with Jason Segel, who plays as Marshall Eriksen in the series. There is no confirmation from the network, the stars, including the series' insider regarding the couple's appearance.

In the series, Jillian will be considered as a 'bad' girl who is very fond of going to parties. She is a sweet looking young woman in her mid 20s who works as a teacher with Lily. She works well at her job but goes wild at night in a party.

New Sister for Stella in 'How I Met Your Mother'
September 20, 2008 10:09:57There will be a new sister for Sarah Chalke's character in "How I Met Your Mother". EW's Ausiello Files revealed exclusively that 29-year-old actress Danneel Harris will be in replacement of 20-year-old original cast Sara Paxton as Nora in the new season of the CBS show.
The show's producers, Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, feel the need of an older actress to portray Stella's sister. However, Paxton will not be left out from the show, but will be given "another role" instead, an insider revealed. Furthermore, it is speculated that Nora's role will be in a wedding. Harris, who played bad girl Rachel Gatina in "One Tree Hill", will have her episode aired in November.

Cracking the jokes from Neil Patrick Harris' character Barney who stuns Lily (Alyson Hannigan), the clip is relatively short, running under 12 seconds.
The 4.01 episode which will be called "Do I Know You?", recurring role Stella (Sarah Chalke) has to give Ted (Josh Radnor) an answer regarding his proposal. At the same time Barney realizes that he is in love with Robin (Cobie Smulders) and wants to say something about it.
