Mr. Sunshine Episode 1.03 Heather's Sister

Heather has a framed picture of the Unabomber on her desk. It's even autographed! She's such an interesting girl. So, it stands to reason that her family members would also be most intriguing. That may be why Heather tricks Ben into attending a blind date with her sister, Stephanie.

Ben is impressed by how normal Stephanie seems at first. Then he slowly begins to realize she may not have a mind of her own. Ben has no interest in seeing this overly-agreeable lady ever again, but ultimately gets roped into another night out as part of a double date with Roman and Heather. As you may have guessed, Stephanie agrees to go out with Ben again, too.

Ben's only doing this second date as a favor. It's not like he's even remotely interested in Stephanie. Alonzo believes this could be a problem. Apparently, the guy Heather once set on fire was Stephanie's ex-boyfriend. It seems Ben's pretty assistant is pretty protective when it comes to her sis. Alonzo suggests that Ben find a way to get Stephanie to dump him.

Ben's attempts to sabotage his relationship with Stephanie go south fast. He eventually blows up at the dinner table. Heather is remarkably calm. She says, "I just thought you're both attractive and single and with your healthy narcissism and her desperate need to please…you guys would be a perfect match." Makes sense.

As it turns out, Stephanie was only being agreeable to be polite. She believes she can do much better than Ben. She even calls him a loser. This gets Heather all riled up. She totally goes off on her sis with a heartfelt testimonial espousing the finer qualities of her boss. Ben realizes that Heather is actually a pretty great girl. Roman thinks so, too. Next time they do the date thing, it'll happen without the crazies tagging along.

This is the final year of eligibility for Crystal's prize show dog, Riverdale Admiral Horatio Nelson Ticklefight, to compete in the San Diego Dog Show. She wants Alonzo the present her pooch at the big show. In other news, Alice longs to impress her old high school friend, Jessica. She wants Alonzo to be his amazing self in order to make Jessica totally envious. Did we mention that Alice can't stand her old high school chum?

Alonzo takes to the floor of the Sunshine Center with Riverdale Admiral Horatio Nelson Ticklefight by his side. He's not all that into the competition at first. But then Alonzo realizes there are more than a few basketball fans in attendance at the dog show. It's as if he's back on center court ready to hit a game-winning buzzer-beater. But Crystal is intent on taking center stage for the Best in Show round. This could get ugly.

Alonzo's backstage dogfight with Crystal causes Riverdale Admiral Horatio Nelson Ticklefight to completely shut down. The incident also doesn't do a lot to help Alice impress her old high school nemesis. Nevertheless, the show must go on. Riverdale Admiral Horatio Nelson Ticklefight will take to the stage even if Crystal has to drag him out there, which is exactly what she does.
