Synopsis

Mike and Molly are forced to go to dinner with his mom and boss. At the awkward dinner the Captain mentions that Mike should take the detective exam. Molly is very supportive of this idea and when Mike decides to study and take the test, all that pressure causes him to fall apart. In the end Mike ends up rallying and passing the exam but with budget cutbacks he probably won't be bumped up to detective until their first kid's in highschool.
