Hell's Kitchen Episode 11.10 10 Chefs Compete / 9 Chefs Compete

After the night's elimination ceremony, the contestants settle in for a little sleep. But in the middle of the night, the sous chefs wake them all up by banging on pots and pans and sounding air horns.

The cooks meet Chef Ramsay in the dining room, where he explains that the evening's menus will be designed and executed by the teams. Each team will come up with four appetizers, four entrées and two desserts that are worthy of being served in Hell's Kitchen.

On the one hand, Zach barely contributes to the men's brainstorming at first; on the other, Nedra won't stop talking. She insists on making a "sexy" gumbo. And Zach finally suggests pork, filet and salmon dishes.

Having finalized their menus, both teams go to the kitchen to prep their creations for presentation to Chef Ramsay. After more than five hours of tasting, testing and cooking, the teams plate their dishes for inspection. Gordon tastes the men's dishes first and showers them with compliments.

Chef Ramsey is not as pleased when he samples the women's plates, and he tells them they have work to do before the doors open in 20 minutes. After some quick adjustments, the Red Team gets the stamp of approval, and Hell's Kitchen opens for the Battle of the Menus.

Diners from the same table can order from either the Red or the Blue Kitchen's offerings. As a result, both kitchens need to coordinate to make sure their dishes arrive to the diners at the same time.

Thanks to Jon and Michael, the men charge ahead on appetizers. Although Nedra briefly struggles on the scallops, both teams quickly move on to entrées.

However, when it's time for Cyndi to deliver on the fish station, she brings raw branzino to the pass. Meanwhile, Zach on the meat station maintains the men's edge with his first order of pork chops.

After Cyndi properly prepares her fish, the Red Team is back on track. In the Blue Kitchen, Zach brings perfectly cooked beef to Chef Ramsay, but Anthony serves the accompanying sauce stone-cold. Despite the speed bump, the men quickly recover.

Unfortunately, the pressure is on Susan to keep up on garnish. When she delivers unacceptable sauteed mushrooms, Mary starts to give her unwanted advice. As the women gel as a team, their entre machine keeps humming along.

Back with the men, Michael stumbles on the fish station not once but twice. Chef Ramsay gives him a five-minute time-out. As if it couldn't get any worse, Zach starts to make mistakes on the meat station.

Even though no food is leaving the Blue Kitchen, the women are able to complete dinner service slightly ahead of the men. The Red Team comes out ahead once again, and the men must choose the one individual they want eliminated.

While the men deliberate, Chef Ramsay calls all of the women to his office. He tells them they must select someone to join the Blue Team. Since they all volunteer, it is agreed to let fate decide, and Cyndi is randomly picked to work with the men.

At the elimination ceremony, the Blue Team admits they are unable to come to a consensus about who should go. Since Zach and Michael each have two votes, they both are asked to step forward. In the end, Chef Ramsay sends Michael home. The women tell Gordon that Cyndi was arbitrarily chosen to go the men's team, and he snaps at them all. And with that the episode is left to be continued . . .
