This week, the whole team heads to Britain: Devin, Ben, and Jael investigate a possible alien abduction case in the town of Droitwich, while Bill, Lanisha, and Austin try to replicate a video of a UFO near Stratford.
After interviewing the possible abductee, a woman who wishes to remain known only as Sonya, Ben and his team are convinced of her sincerity, despite the incredible sight of her video. Said video shows her body disappearing from her bed as if it were vaporizing, and reappearing the same way. As the camera trains on Jael's body, she lies in the bed and slowly rolls off the side, then slithers back in as stealthily as she can. The work is impressive, but the original video very clearly shows the form under the covers disappearing - not rolling off and back on.
Although they doubt this video was hoaxed, they must test a theory that involves trickery in order to learn more about the video. They rig an air bladder to a high-pressure pump, then inflate and deflate it. It looks similar, but the speed is wrong. At the end of their wits, they cut a hole in the mattress and place a hydraulic lift underneath it. By lowering, then raising, Jael on this lift, they're able to create a perfect match, but the extent of this hoax seems beyond what the innocent Sonya is capable of.
A nighttime investigation is needed, and it yields shocking results. When Ben and Devin conduct an EVP session in the bedroom, they get a clear burst of static in response to a question, and when they ask if the presence intends to hurt the family, the EMF detector goes crazy. They wish they had more answers for Sonya and her family, but it's clear that something's amiss. Ben's contacts analyze the video and find no evidence of tampering, so it seems the case remains open.
Meanwhile, Bill, Austin, and Lanisha speak to a UFO witness. The local man, Harry St. Louis, saw a glowing, serpentine form snaking through the sky. The team starts with the theory that it was a stunt kite with a glowing tail, but when they launch their own kite, it's obvious that this couldn't double for what Harry saw. Next, they try a remote control plane with pyrotechnics rigged to it, but though the movement and lighting are better, the wings are still visible.
Though these experiments don't yield definitive results, they do show the team that, instead of a small object close to an observer, it was more likely a large object far away. Austin makes a call and soon two stunt planes arrive, each with pyrotechnics strapped to their wings. They fly close enough together to look like one object, and it's clear that this is what Harry originally saw. Bill then interviews some local officials and learns that an aerobatic flying team was practicing that day, and with that information, the case is officially closed.
