After she assumes he's gay, Andrew's next question for Charlotte is, "Are you opened-minded?" The only way for Charlotte to answer is with a story about her friends. One night, Charlotte tries to get rid of Leslie, Jill and Wayne because she's going to meet Mike and his new girlfriend. Mike feels as though Charlotte's the only one who won't judge, and he's scared his new girlfriend will leave him for the charming Wayne Rutherford.

Mike and Charlotte arrive at the art gallery and realize that Jill, Leslie and Wayne have followed them. Mike allows Leslie and Jill to say a quick hello to his new girlfriend Kate before kicking them out. Then he makes Wayne go into "sleeper mode" so Kate won't like him better. When Charlotte and Kate meet, they get along extremely well.

Leslie and Jill go shoe shopping. Leslie sees a pair of expensive boots she wants to buy despite the price. At the art gallery, Kate and Charlotte bond over cheese. Still in sleeper mode, Wayne's not getting approached by any women, which he finds very relaxing.

The next day Kate calls Charlotte to invite her to a show. Mike's really excited. Later that night, Kate wipes something on Charlotte's butt, and her hand lingers there a little too long. Charlotte calls Leslie to say she thinks Kate's a lesbian. It doesn't take long before everyone knows, and Mike thinks his girlfriend's a lesbian.

Charlotte apologizes to Mike. He doesn't think Kate's a lesbian - she's just an artist. Jill wants to see what Kate did, so Charlotte demonstrates the butt wipe on Jill. Leslie and Wayne also want to get in on the butt-rubbing action. Mike thinks they're all being ridiculous and trying to ruin his relationship, yet again. Jill, Wayne and Leslie decide to do a lesbian test on Kate.

When Jill and Wayne can't seem to get a read on Kate, Charlotte tries to smooth things over. Kate wipes Charlotte's boob, claiming she has some chips on her shirt. Later, Charlotte demonstrates the wipe for Jill, Leslie and Wayne to show them what she's talking about. Mike wonders if Charlotte's just a messy person, but Charlotte thinks Kate likes girls.

Mike thinks Charlotte's trying to sabotage his relationship with Kate. Charlotte takes offense and wants to get things straightened out right away. Meanwhile, Leslie goes down to the shoe store and learns the boots have been sold. When Leslie arrives at Charlotte's apartment, she finds out Kate has in fact been hitting on her. Not only that, Kate's bought Leslie's boots.

Mike interrupts Charlotte and Kate's conversation, having realized that Kate is open-minded - she likes both Mike and Charlotte. However, Charlotte's not open-minded at all. Realizing that Wayne, Jill and Leslie have also been listening to the conversation, Kate decides Mike's friends are crazy. Later at the bar, Charlotte apologizes to Mike for things not working out with Kate.

Mike's bummed - he could have had a threesome if Charlotte was into it. Wayne knocked out his bucket list by the time he was 21. He's already done a threesome and a foursome. Mike begs Wayne to teach him some stuff about dating.
