Showtime Boss Defends Incest Storyline on 'Dexter'
January 13, 2012 09:01:02Almost a month after "Dexter" wrapped its sixth season, the controversial twist that finds Deb dealing with her romantic feelings for her brother still became a hot topic at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour. During the panel taking place on Thursday, January 12, Showtime entertainment president David Nevins defended the incest storyline.
"I'm aware that there's a certain taboo despite the fact that they're not genetically related," Nevins admitted before quickly adding, "But [this is] something that has been building over a number of years. It's an idea that's informed how they've done that show for a long time."

At Showtime's annual holiday party in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 1, the network's entertainment president David Nevins said, "I'm never going to say 'never,' but everybody is operating under that assumption. Things could take a turn creatively where they come to us and say they need more time."
He even revealed that the creative end game will begin soon, claiming, "Coming back for two more years gives us clarity about how and when it will go out." Teasing fans to tune in the remainders of the currently airing season 6, he revealed, "There's things that are going to happen [this season] that will set up a very clear end game that will take two seasons to tell. You have got to be there for the last two episodes."

September 24, 2011 11:09:23About a week shy of its premiere, the first episode of "Dexter" season 6 has reportedly leaked online. According to TorrentFreak, the upcoming October 2 outing has been made available for viewing pleasure via BitTorrent.
When confirmed about the news on early Friday, September 23, Ernesto of TorrentFreak said about 50,000 people have downloaded the 502 MB file, which is possibly ripped from a DVD source. "It is impossible to take down now, unless they shut down the entire internet," he told FishbowlLA.

Another 'Dexter' Promo Features New Characters and New Footage
September 08, 2011 01:09:49New characters on "Dexter" season 6 have been introduced in a fresh promo. In the clip, lead actor Michael C. Hall describes Brother Sam, who is played by Mos Def, as someone whom Dexter initially is pursuing as a potential victim but later turns to be his ally.
There is also Professor Gellar (Edward James Olmos) and his protege Travis (Colin Hanks). Travis does bad things under the name of God, with the guidance of his creepy mentor. 'Dexter' May Get New Love Interest in Season 6
May 04, 2011 02:05:07Dexter Morgan may not be alone anymore in season 6 of "Dexter" following his wife's death at the end of season 4. The show is currently in search for an actress to portray Jamie, an outgoing and fun Latina in her mid-20s who relocates from Florida to Miami for grad school. She could be a perfect match for Michael C. Hall's character as TV Guide says, "her over-the-top, positive energy is just what Dexter needs."
Beside Jamie, other new recurring roles being cast are Chicago Mike and Louis Greene. The former is described as a thirtysomething African-American homicide detective who possesses a finely turned BS detector. Tough and stylish, he is not thrilled about having left Chicago for Miami where his wife has found employment. He does not play well with Dexter and other members of the established team.
