Joel McHale on Chevy Chase 'Community' Exit: 'He Didn't Want to Be There'
February 07, 2013 04:02:11Just a day before "Community" debuts its fourth season, lead actor Joel McHale stopped by Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show to talk about working with Chevy Chase. Asked by the shock jock why Chase quit the show, the Jeff Winger depicter simply said, "He didn't want to be there."
When Stern asked why they didn't talk about any beef between Chase and the show's staff, McHale claimed, "When I would try, he would just try to fight me, physically fight me." The "Ted" star also confirmed that the 69-year-old comedian threw the N-word on the set.

Chevy Chase Drops Out of 'Community' Mid Season 4
November 22, 2012 08:11:04Chevy Chase is leaving "Community" while the show is still filming its fourth season. According to Deadline, the 69-year-old actor/comedian and the series producers are parting ways by mutual agreement.
The Pierce Hawthorne depicter won't appear in just one or two episodes which haven't been filmed. He, however, is going to be featured in the season 4 finale which has been shot earlier.

NBC Postpones 'Community' and 'Whitney' Season Premieres
October 09, 2012 11:10:06Less than two weeks before the scheduled premiere dates of "Community" season 4 and "Whitney" season 2, NBC decides to postpone the show's returns. The network explains that the delay is intended to give more time to promote the two shows, but hasn't announced new return dates.
"Given the success we've had for the past four weeks - including winning the first week of the season in adults 18-49, we've decided to continue to concentrate our promotional strength on our new NBC shows that are scheduled Monday through Wednesday and have therefore decided to hold 'Community' and 'Whitney' from their previously announced premieres of Oct. 19," NBC explains in a statement.

Brie Larson Locked to Star in 'Community' Season 4

'Community' Creator Dan Harmon Reveals He's Fired

Via Tumblr post on Saturday, May 19, Harmon said the producers have not even given him a call.
"Why'd Sony want me gone? I can't answer that because I've been in as much contact with them as you have," Harmon wrote to fans. "They literally haven't called me since the season four pickup, so their reasons for replacing me are clearly none of my business."

'Community' Returns Sooner With Animated Episodes
March 04, 2012 11:03:44NBC announced last month that its hit show "Community" is due to return March 15 with new episodes. However, the fan-favorite comedy will be back sooner than expected as NBC has prepared special animated versions to raise awareness of the show's return.
The three-part shorts called "Abed's Master Key" kick off March 7 on NBC.com and Hulu with Part I. The following parts will be available on March 8 and 9 respectively. Creators of the web series "Ikea Heights", Dave Seger and Tom Kauffman, wrote the shorts. Danny Pudi's character, Abed, gets his hands on the master key to Greendale Community College, the fictional school the characters attend.
