ABC Says 'There Is No Merit' to CBS' Rip-Off Lawsuit
May 11, 2012 01:05:18ABC has defended itself from allegations that it rips off "Big Brother" for its new show "Glass House". After CBS filed the lawsuit, the Alphabet released a statement saying, "We believe there is no merit to this lawsuit."
"The differences between Glass House and Big Brother are both fundamental and obvious, ranging from Glass House's interactive elements and audience participation to its deployment of cutting edge technologies," the defendants insisted.

CBS Threatens to Sue ABC Over 'Big Brother'-Like Show 'Glass House'
May 05, 2012 11:05:00CBS isn't happy that ABC is developing a new show which bears striking similarities to "Big Brother". Just days after the latter announced its upcoming project "Glass House", the former, via the Los Angeles legal firm of Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher, has sent a letter to warn that the Alphabet "will be acting at their own peril if they continue to proceed" with the project.
"CBS has instructed us to pursue all available remedies if this course of conduct continues," the letter also points out. If ABC proceeds with "Glass House", the Eye threatens to sue the Alphabet for violation of the Copyright Act, including breach of non-disclosure agreements and misappropriation of trade secrets.

'Big Brother Brasil' Contestant Under Investigation for Alleged Rape on TV Show
January 18, 2012 08:01:55A contestant of "Big Brother Brasil" has allegedly been caught on camera raping another housemate. In a scene aired on the Brazilian version of "Big Brother", Daniel Echaniz lied next to Monique Amin, who passed out after getting drunk in a house party, and appeared to have sex with her under the covers.
After the seven-minute footage created a buzz, Brazilian police announced on Tuesday, January 17 that they have begun investigating the case. "The young woman denies she was raped and has not pressed charges," Rio de Janeiro police spokeswoman Edileide Macedo said of the alleged victim, 23-year-old Amin. "We continue to investigate the case because it is a public matter."

'Big Brother 13' Crowns Rachel Reilly as Winner

The Wednesday (September 14) final started with three remaining houseguests, who were Porsche Briggs and Adam Poch in addition to Rachel. When 26-year-old Rachel won the final Head of Household through a three-part challenge, she decided to evict Adam, leaving her and Porsche in the final two.

The North Carolina blonde girl, who revealed that she agreed to do another season of the reality show to help beau Jeff Schroeder win, nominates Rachel Reilly now that she and Jeff have been evicted.
Speaking after her eviction on Thursday, September 8, Jordan had nothing but good words for Rachel. "I know she said when she came back this time she wanted to change the way she looked from her season. I know she was a little feisty in the beginning, but after Brendon left, I think [viewers] began to love her," she said before adding, "She was kind of being herself, a great game player. People should like her."

'Big Brother' Responds to Death Threats Made Against Shelly's Family

Taking to Twitter, Allison Grodner tells fans to stop the disgraceful actions, writing "No matter how much you dislike an HG, this is wrong! True BB fans do not try to ruin lives. Please stop!"
Shelly's family began receiving death threats after she voted to evict Jeff last week, during which another contestant Daniele Donato was also sent home. Sources said Shelly's family has received numerous phone calls from people threatening violence acts against her husband and 8-year-old daughter.

'Big Brother' to Bring Back Evicted Houseguest
August 04, 2011 02:08:40It turns out "Big Brother 13" still has another twist kept in store. After welcoming back six former contestants in the season premiere, the show will allegedly bring back one houseguest who has been evicted earlier this season.
The news surfaces after "Big Brother" fan site Hamster Watch noticed an accidentally posted early poll for this week's America's Vote. Based on the screengrab taken by the site, people are given a chance to see their favorite again on the show by voting on one of the first four evicted HGs.

CBS Responds to Jeff Schroeder's Homophobic Rant on 'Big Brother'
July 14, 2011 10:07:26Before being criticized for a homophobic statement made by Jeff Schroeder during a live feed of "Big Brother", CBS releases a statement to explain that the contestant takes a sole responsible of the comment. The network says, "At times, the houseguests make comments, reveal prejudices and other beliefs that we do not condone."
While the homophobic rant is not expected to air in an upcoming telecast, The Eye adds, "Any views or opinions expressed in personal commentary by a houseguest appearing on 'Big Brother', either on any live feed from the house or the broadcast, are those of the individual(s) speaking and do not represent the views or opinions of CBS or the producers of the program."

Trying to stop speculations and rumors floating on the web, the winner of season 8, who returned to cycle 13 with his estranged daughter Daniele, said that he had to leave due to personal emergency.
"I wasn't kicked out, I wasn't put in jail, I wasn't diagnosed with cancer, my mother, my son and my girlfriend weren't in any kind of accident or caused me to leave the house in any way shape or form," he began his explanation in a video posted on RTVZone.com. "My brother wasn't killed, I don't even have a f*****g brother ... all these rumors are just out of hand."

Evel Dick Exits 'Big Brother' Due to Personal Issue

Donato, who won season 8 of the reality series, was invited back as part of this season's twist. He was joined by his estranged daughter Daniele who is relatively low key. The 48-year-old former bar manager from Los Angeles, CA went MIA not long after appearing in the premiere episode of season 13.

Also this summer, the network will premiere its new reality show "Same Name" on Sunday, July 24 at 9 P.M. The show will see a celebrity and an ordinary citizen, who happen to share the same name, trading lives.
