'Big Brother 16' Winner Announced

After 97 days, " 16" has finally crowned a winner. The 90-minute finale on Wednesday, September 24 began with a recap of the season so far. The remaining HouseGuests, Cody Calafiore, Victoria Rafaeli and Derrick Levasseur, then competed in the first part of final HoH.

In the first part which was an endurance game, they were on hang gliders. After 40 minutes, Victoria slipped and fell. Derrick tried to convince Cody to throw it, reasoning that Cody had a better chance to beat Victoria in the second part. Cody didn't fall for it so Derrick dropped and Cody won.


'Big Brother' Renewed Up to 2016

CBS has so much faith in "" that it has renewed the reality show for two more seasons. The 17th and 18th edition will air in summer 2015 and 2016 respectively.

"Big Brother continues to be the one of the summer's most dominant programs, and with each season, Allison [Grodner] and Rich [Meehan] produce the most twisted ways to evolve the series creatively," said Chris Castallo, CBS executive vice president of alternative programming. "With its one-of-a-kind format, coupled with its passionate, socially engaged fan base, no other show comes close to duplicating it."


Frankie Grande Evicted From 'Big Brother' House

Frankie Grande's fate turned 180 degrees on " 16", thanks to the Rewind Button. After winning the HOH competition on September 7, he lost the power when the game was reset and later was nominated for eviction.

The brother of singer felt betrayed by the members of his alliance as Caleb was the one who nominated him and Victoria. Cody won the Power of Veto and decided to keep the nominations the same as he wanted to send Frankie home. Frankie was eventually evicted by a 2-0 vote on Tuesday, September 16 and became the seventh member of the jury.

The 70-year-old actor is the first American winner in the show's history. He was in the final with boxer Audley Harrison, "Benefits Street" star "White" Dee Kelly, former Bwitched singer Edele Lynch, "Gogglebox" star George Gilbey and former "Strictly Come Dancing" pro dancer James Jordan.

The romantic scenes were included in the Sunday, September 7 episode. "Five years ago we met here, so I wanted to come full circle," Jeff told Jordan, before he got down on one knee. She said yes and they kissed. Country star performed as a video montage of the couple's best moments on "Big Brother 11" and "Big Brother 13" were shown.


Frankie Grande Gives Touching Eulogy for Late Grandfather on 'Big Brother'

Frankie James Grande learned the sad news of his grandfather's death on "". During the show's Live Feed on Wednesday, July 23, he received a letter from his family informing him that his grandfather Frank, who had been battling cancer, passed away on Tuesday.

Frankie's family urged him to stay in the competition as his sister previously tweeted, "Asked grandps last week if he wanted us to pull frankie off bb & he said 'no way!' he's gotta play the game even tho i don't understand it." She watched the show when Frankie learnt of the sad news and took to Twitter to share her reaction, "Watching @frankiejgrande talk abt grandps after reading our letter on the live feed. sobbing / laughing hysterically. love u frankie so much."


'Big Brother 16' Twists and New House Revealed

New rules will apply in the upcoming installment of "". In what is dubbed the most "twisted" season ever, the show will name two Houseguests as the Head of Household (HOH) each week. Each HOH will have a chance to nominate two fellow Houseguests for eviction every week, but the HOHs will not be automatically safe for the week.

The second twist is called "Team America", which is a new interactive element that will allow viewers "to significantly influence the game from home." Additionally, this season's "Big Brother" will introduce a new competition, Battle of the Block, "which will dramatically shift the power in the house each week."

Spencer was out quickly and GinaMarie won in this challenge, but she choked on some glitter.

" 15" featured another double eviction as the show hit a milestone. With two weeks left before the show crowns a winner, the competition is in shortage of female players as two other girls were sent packing on its Thursday, September 5 outing, which marks the 500th episode for the reality series.

First to get the boot was Amanda, who was nominated along with Spencer. Amanda initially thought McCrae and Andy would be on her side, so she campaigned to get Elissa's vote. Elissa agreed to keep Amanda. The vote result was a tie, so GinaMarie got to make the deciding vote. She chose to evict Amanda.

Aaryn Gries became the latest victim of " 15" eviction. The 22-year-old Texas girl, who made headlines due to her controversial statements on the show, was voted out 5-0 of the competition on Thursday, August 29 after being nominated along with Andy Herren.

In an interview with host Julie Chen following her eviction, Aaryn finally addressed her racist behavior on the show. "I do not remember saying those things," she said after Julie read back some of her racist comments. "That was not meant to be serious, and if I said those things I feel horrible because I regret that."

'Big Brother' Shocking Eviction Jeopardizes a Secret Alliance

Following the first live eviction last week, Nick of " 15" and most viewers might have thought his alliance was so solid that his plans to stay survived on the show would've worked out once again. However, that was not the case in the July 11 episode when the show evicted another HouseGuest.

As the MVP for the second straight week, Elissa nominated Nick for eviction to replace Jeremy, who won the Power of Veto and used it to remove himself from the block. Helen, also being nominated along with Elissa, didn't worry that she would be sent home since among the three nominees, she was the one with the least threat.

The secret alliance and the blindsiding plan in the first week of " 15" led to the first eviction on Wednesday, July 3. Some of the HouseGuests' prediction that Elissa was the MVP was proven right as she revealed it herself to Andy and the master plan initiated by Nick and McCrae continued.

David became the first evicted contestant after being voted out by seven fellow HouseGuests. David's allies were genuinely shocked, while those who evicted him pretended to be shocked. Jeremy, meanwhile, stuck to the plan to evict Elissa, giving Nick a "reason" to out him as a member of his secret alliance, the Moving Company.


CBS Responds to Controversy Over Racist and Homophobic Remarks on 'Big Brother'

Just a week into its 15th season, "" has sparked a controversy over the HouseGuests' statements on live feeds which offended fans. In the unedited streaming, some of the contestants were captured making racist and homophobic comments.

GinaMarie referring to welfare as "n**ger insurance," Aaryn calling gay contestant Andy a "queer," and another girl saying that Candace's "blackness" was coming out were some of the offensive remarks. Those parts, however, were not included in the broadcast version of the show.


'Big Brother' Reveals MVP's Power in Season 15 Premiere

" 15" welcomed 16 houseguests to the new house in the season premiere on Wednesday, June 26. After a short introduction of the contestants, host Julie Chen gathered them to announce one of the twists: instead of two houseguests, three contestants will be nominated for elimination each week.

The houseguests then played Popsicle Factory to determined the HoH. In the game, they had to hang onto a "popsicle" while things like cold water and paint sprayed them as they rotated. After almost three hours, Nick and McCrae made a deal which would ensure Nick's immunity as he let McCrae be the first HoH. McCrae agreed, saying, "I like you. I think you and me can work well together."
