'America's Next Top Model' Crowns Lisa as Winner, Addresses Angelea Disqualification
December 09, 2011 08:12:22Lisa D'Amato has snatched the winner title on "America's Next Top Model: All-Stars", but it's not her victory which becomes talks of the town. During the cycle 17 finale which was aired on Wednesday, December 7, the judges announced that Angelea Preston, who was among the top 3 along with Lisa and Allison Harvard, was disqualified and could not continue her participation on the show.
"We're back in Los Angeles on the Top Model set and we're here for a special finale that's being conducted under unusual circumstances," judge/executive producer Tyra Banks said during the final judges panel. Prior to that, the three women had done their last challenges, which included doing a Cover Girl commercial, a photo shoot for Vogue Italia on the beach in Crete, and a runway show.

The 5 ft 10.5 inch model beat Molly O'Connell on the finale after filming a CoverGirl commercial, doing a photo shoot for Vogue Italia, and walking the final runaway for Vivienne Westwood's Anglomania line.
Nineteen-year-old Brittani charmed the judges with her strut despite the fact that she fell after slipping on some rose petals, crashed into a wall, twisted her ankle and cut her wrist. Tyra Banks admitted, "That girl's got something. I thought your pose was divine."

The second girl Tyra portrays is model with attitude. "I'm not here to make friends," says the typical model number two. She has a tattoo of her name which makes up ANTM when abbreviated. The last girl is a goth model who pretends she doesn't want to be on the show. "I'm not a cookie cutter, I cut the cookies," goth girl says.

"Going into the competition I was super insecure about myself. I had just gotten out of high school about a year ago, so I'd been through all the teenage drama, bullying and stuff," Ward tells Billy Bush and Kit Hoover of "Access Hollywood Live" Thursday morning. Ward said growing up, she was taunted about her tall frame.

The girls who immediately recognize her are given a short speech from the Disney starlet who used to be the victim of bullies. "I heard what you guys are doing, I know firsthand what it's like to be called names," Lovato says. "They would call me fat and promiscuous. This cycle was filmed in New Zealand last month. The models lived in a penthouse suite called Sentinel Apartments on the North Shore. The luxury of the accommodation includes a spa and lap pool, gas fireplace and home movie theater. In order to conceal the identity of the finalists from the local media, the models were asked to wear hats and sunglasses when they were out and about.

And when Nigel Barker asked her to think something emotional, Laura could not deliver it to the camera. However, Nicole wasn't exactly an obvious winner from the beginning. Jay Manuel disliked the way she read her CoverGirl commercial because she sounded like a snob.

Teyona had to battle it out with Allison and Aminat in the semi final, doing a commercial ad for CoverGirl lipstick. Teyona in particular was not smooth in delivering her lines and she tend to forget them. But the judges thought that Teyona has more fabulous photos compared to Aminat, and admitted her to the final two along with Allison.
