Simon Cowell Promises to Kick Off Howard Stern If He Goes Too Far on 'AGT'

Seemingly responding to the Parents Television Council's concern over Stern's judging gig, the show's creator believes the shook jock is "not stupid" to enrage the group, but promises, "If he goes too far, he'll be kicked off."
Howie Mandel, who has joined as a judge on the reality series since 2010, also backs NBC's decision to hire Stern. Calling PTC "ignorant" for attacking the radio host, he claims, "It's ridiculous to think that he's bringing the Sirius show to 'America's Got Talent'."

"In an act of desperation by a flailing network, NBC has hired Howard Stern - a performer who is synonymous with shock, profanity and obscenity - as a judge on a prime-time talent competition," said PTC president Tim Winter. "Not coincidentally, in just over three weeks the network will be standing before the United States Supreme Court arguing for the right to use the F-word at any time of the day, even in front of children."

According to the group's president Tim Winter, the 57-year-old presenter is not appropriate for the family-friendly show.
"If the rumors are true that NBC is considering the addition of radio shock-jock Howard Stern to the 'America's Got Talent' judges table, the result will be the alienation of tens of millions of advertising dollars," Winter predicted. "Any short-term buzz from Stern's shock value will result in a longer-term decline as families abandon the show for more suitable programming."

Rumor has it, the deal that is being discussed could give Stern about $15 million a year to fill in Morgan's shoes. The 57-year-old presenter would still host his Sirius XM radio show, but since the radio program airs out of New York, NBC is reportedly considering to move "AGT" filming location from Los Angeles to the Big Apple to accommodate Stern.

"It's been a rewarding experience and now I'm thrilled to be able to follow my dream to do my own TV show, which will be announced very shortly. After dispatching these acts, Nick separated Barbara Padilla and Kevin Skinner to second and first place respectively.

Dancing group FootworKINGz almost missed the last spot of the Top 5 this week but was saved by the judges' unanimous vote. The first to be read as a finalist was Texan pianist Jeffery Ou who put aside fellow pianist Bri Bernstein. Singer Lawrence Beamen advanced next, followed by married jugglers Mario and Jenny Ferreira, and breakdancer Hairo Torres. These people are known as the Fab Five, Texas Tenors of Houston, Paradizo Dance, Voices of Glory, and Tony Hoard and his dog Rory. All having the chance to win the $1 million prize, the five acts were selected on Wednesday, August 12 through the second week elimination round. They will advance to the semi-finals which will be held in September.

July 31, 2009 11:07:07NBC has released the list of 40 acts that will compete for "America's Got Talent" live on stage. After the two "The Vegas Verdicts" episodes last week, the judges are leaving American audience to vote on who deserve to be in the Top 20, Top 10, Top 5 and eventually the winner.
The Top 40 acts will again be divided into four large groups with the first one begin showing their talents on August 4 starting 9/8c. With the new system, the acts are not given a chance to perform for the second time unless the judges request them so as a challenge.
