'America's Got Talent': And the Winner Is Kevin Skinner

The guy with the guitar came out as the champion of "America's Got Talent" on Wednesday, September 16 finale. Kevin Skinner, a musical act that hailed from Mayfield, K.Y. was awarded 1 million dollar grand prize and a spot at Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino show when he was announced as the winner of fourth season.

In the final round, host Nick Cannon narrowed it down from Top 10 to Top 5. The Voices of Glory finished fifth, followed by Texas Tenors at fourth place and Recycled Percussion at number 3. After dispatching these acts, Nick separated Barbara Padilla and Kevin Skinner to second and first place respectively.

Five More Progress to 'America's Got Talent' Final

The third batch of talents joining the finalists of "America's Got Talent" this season has been unveiled during the telecast on Wednesday, August 19. Dancing group FootworKINGz almost missed the last spot of the Top 5 this week but was saved by the judges' unanimous vote. As a result, dancers Pixie Mystere have to swallow the bitter pill of almost making it to the final.

The first to be read as a finalist was Texan pianist Jeffery Ou who put aside fellow pianist Bri Bernstein. Singer Lawrence Beamen advanced next, followed by married jugglers Mario and Jenny Ferreira, and breakdancer Hairo Torres. Still not quite pleased with America's votes, judge Piers Morgan said upon determining the fifth finalist, "I think America's made some strange decisions with a couple of these acts."

Five More Acts Advance to 'America's Got Talent' Top 20

The second batch of acts joining the Top 20 of "America's Got Talent" has been announced. The judges picked five sisters who tap dance, three tenors from Texas, a couple who dances, a singing siblings trio, and gave the final vote to a man and his dog.

These people are known as the Fab Five, Texas Tenors of Houston, Paradizo Dance, Voices of Glory, and Tony Hoard and his dog Rory. All having the chance to win the $1 million prize, the five acts were selected on Wednesday, August 12 through the second week elimination round. They will advance to the semi-finals which will be held in September.

List of Top 40 Acts on 'America's Got Talent' Season 4

NBC has released the list of 40 acts that will compete for "America's Got Talent" live on stage. After the two "The Vegas Verdicts" episodes last week, the judges are leaving American audience to vote on who deserve to be in the Top 20, Top 10, Top 5 and eventually the winner.

The Top 40 acts will again be divided into four large groups with the first one begin showing their talents on August 4 starting 9/8c. With the new system, the acts are not given a chance to perform for the second time unless the judges request them so as a challenge.

Susan Boyle finally made it to "America's Got Talent" after almost being trampled by President Barack Obama's news conference on Wednesday, July 22 night. She did an interview with Meredith Vieira to talk about her hotshot fame, how her mother's death encouraged her to go public and the meltdown that came with the sudden media attention.

Although she was praised for her vocal, Susan was a woman of a few words. However, Vieira who taped the interview in London praised her for being pleasant to talk to. "She came off more as a regular person, not as a celebrity. Frankly, I was quite surprised how fun and chatty she was," the talk host told People.

"America's Got Talent" continues its search for talented people on an episode aired Wednesday, July 15. Giving a look at an audition in Seattle, the recent episode featured a bravado performance from middle-aged woman Kari Callin, who was claimed by numerous reports in the media as the next Susan Boyle.

Kari appeared on the audition stage in a red top and blue jeans. The radiology technician delivered West Side Story's song called "Somewhere", and stunned audience and judges panel. She advanced to the next round.

"America's Got Talent" viewers will be treated with a live performance from Mariah Carey, it has been confirmed. During August 5 result show of the NBC's reality TV series, Mariah will deliver her new single "Obsessed" which is taken from her August 25 release, "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel".

Beside having a live appearance from Mariah Carey, "America's Got Talent" has also hosted a world premiere for her "Obsessed" music video on July 15 episode. The first episode of the competition show's season four was broadcast on June 23, giving a look at its auditions in Chicago, New York City and Seattle.

It's another season of "America's Got Talent" and boosted by the impressive discovery of 47-year-old Susan Boyle over on "Britain's Got Talent", the show has brought in a variable range of talents to its premiere on Tuesday, June 23. The first episode filtered talents in cities like Chicago, New York City, and Seattle.

The first bunch of people who auditioned came from N.Y.C. but not much talent were found in the city. A singer named Ray did a rendition of Elvis Presley's "A Little Less Conversation" but the judges sent him packing. There were also a fire dancer, a guy who strummed his guitar while unicycling and a white rapper. New host Nick Cannon wondered where all the talents had gone.

A contestant from reality show "America's Got Talent" has been crowned a winner on the Wednesday third season finale. Opera singer Neal E. Boyd becomes a favorite and finishes first after standing side by side to other finalist singer/pianist Eli Mattson as the last two standing.

Host Jerry Springer announced on the seconds leading to the revelation that there was less than one half of one percent between the final votes. When Boyd's name was called, the ex-salesman cried the tears of joy and said, "I love you, Mom. I love you, Sikeston. I love you, Missouri." He is consequently entitled to the $1 million prize.
