Richard Attenborough Quits Acting

Richard Attenborough

David, the brother of the Oscar-winner actor, reveals that Richard does not have a future film plan after becoming wheelchair-bound following his 2008 fall.

Veteran actor Richard Attenborough "won't be making any more movies" after becoming wheelchair-bound following his 2008 fall, according to his brother David Attenborough. The 87-year-old spent months in hospital after an accident at his London home left him in a coma.

The Oscar-winner, whose career spans almost 70 years, subsequently pulled out of his role in historical movie "Ironclad", but insisted he planned to return to the big screen in the future, saying, "It remains my intention to take up offers."

However, Sir David has now revealed his sibling has no future film plans due to his ongoing health battle. He tells Britain's Daily Telegraph, "Richard is not as well as he might be. He is not in great shape. He is in a wheelchair. When he fell down the stairs, he damaged his brain. He won't be making any more films. He will be 88 in August. He can converse and he does watch television."

Lord Richard Attenborough's spokesperson adds, "He probably won't be making any more films."
