Rapper Lil Wayne spent the first hours of his post-prison freedom having his hair styled. The hitmaker was released from New York's Rikers Island prison on Thursday morning, November 4 and taken to a safe house in the city, where he was reunited with friends and family.
Lil Wayne was then booked into a luxury suite at the Palace hotel in Manhattan, where his hairdresser worked on his dreadlocks for several hours. The rapper is expected to leave New York for Miami, Florida, where record label executives are throwing him a welcome home party.
Soon after stepping out of the jail, Lil Wayne reached out to his fans, writing on Twitter "aaaaaaahhhhhhmmmmm baaaaakkkkkkkkkk." A big party to celebrate his freedom has already been set up. Fellow rapper Mack Maine said, "It's gonna be crazy. We have a private party first and then we going to King of Diamonds after, which is a strip club. It's going to be crazy, it's going to be real elegant, extravagant."
