AceShowbiz - Organizers of a campaign to save London's legendary 100 Club have appealed to rockers including Noel Gallagher and John Lyndon to donate cash to save the famed concert venue. Last month, it was announced the club in the U.K. capital's Oxford Street faces closure by Christmas after a rent increase led to unmanageable costs for the owners.

A campaign was launched to save the venue - famous for hosting pre-stardom gigs by countless bands including the Sex Pistols, The Jam, and Oasis - and organizers are now calling on rockers who played there in the early stages of their careers to help save the building.

Tony Morrison, who is spearheading the campaign, insists he needs to raise $750,000 by mid-November to save the 68-year-old venue from closure. He tells NME, "It's a long uphill battle but we are passionate about this and are appealing to anyone who wishes to be involved to pledge a donation. Who knows? There might be a major star out there who will donate a large sum to give something back."
