The songs which are posted on YouTube and claimed as the duo's remix for 'Tron Legacy' soundtrack have been branded fake by their rep.
A representative for faceless French dance music duo Daft Punk has confirmed new songs purporting to be the band's work for Disney's upcoming "Tron" remake are fakes. A number of tracks which were seemingly made by the Da Funk hitmakers surfaced online last week.
The songs, which were posted on video sharing website YouTube.com, were said to be the dance act's latest material to accompany new Disney epic "Tron Legacy", which is set for release in December. But a spokesperson for the duo has told music website Pitchfork.com that the recordings are actually fake.
It was reported that Daft Punk will make a cameo appearance in the film as disc jockey programs at a nightclub within the film's virtual world. The movie itself centers on Sam Flynn, the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn, who looks into his father's disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years.
