Rage Against the Machine frontman Zack De La Rocha is planning a series of concerts to protest Arizona's controversial state immigration laws. The outspoken rocker is spearheading the Sound Strike campaign aimed at prompting touring acts to boycott Arizona until state officials agree to repeal the new law, which requires local authorities to determine a person's immigration status if he or she is suspected of being undocumented.

And now he's planning a series of protest concerts in July. He tells Billboard, "In the coming weeks we are going to be organizing a series of concerts that are respectful of the nature of the boycott in its attempts to isolate the Arizona government but not isolate the people, and especially the organizations that are fighting this on the ground."

"Many of us have begun to plan concerts that include bands that have signed on the Sound Strike, and make tickets available so that people within Arizona can come and see these concerts as they roll out."

And De La Rocha says there's "a strong chance" Rage Against the Machine will play one or more of the concerts. The acts who have signed up for the Sound Strike initiative and thus boycott Arizona venues - include Ry Cooder, Maroon 5, My Morning Jacket, Ben Harper and Pitbull.

Hey "duh," quit bitching and on the internet start protesting with the rest of us who don't agree with those laws. If more of you people would actually get out and VOTE and VOLUNTEER, maybe we wouldn't have so many dummies in office making blatantly racist laws. Just a thought.

Idiot! If you want to address immigration issues take it up with the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT!!!! They allow for "illegal" immigrants to continue entering our country for financial gain of various government entities while border states and small towns are left to deal with the ramifications of these people crossing under the precept that they ar committing a crime by doing so and act accordingly. There are issues with violence, drugs, etc. and the local agencies' hands are tied by the Federal Government. It's not only Mexican Nationals but people from all over the globe cross into the States by way of Mexico and die in our deserts doing so. Now we use our state government to try to remedy some of the issues, and ignorance from the rest of the country runs rampant! You only make Arizona residents suffer here, many of whome don't agree with the stupid laws to begin with. We LIVE this situation every single day, and it is quite clear down here who really are the immigrants...and it's not hispanic people!
