The 'Material Girl' has topped U.K.'s most played artist of the last decade list and is followed by The Beatles and Robbie Williams.
Madonna has been named the most played artist of the last decade in the U.K. The list, compiled by Britain's music licensing body PPL, is based on the number of radio appearances and plays in public places such as shops, clubs and bars, amassed by musicians over the last 10 years.
The "Material Girl" came out on top, closely followed by The Beatles and British pop star Robbie Williams in second and third places respectively. Queen claimed fourth place, while boy band Take That were in fifth. Other artists to appear in the top 10 include Elton John, Elvis Presley and ABBA.
The chart was announced on Radio 2 show People's Artist Chart, with comedian Patrick Kielty presenting the list, BBC reported. Back in December 2009, PPL revealed that Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" was the most widely-played song of the decade.
