The actor is set to reprise his role as the legendary hitman in Len Wiseman's 'John Wick Presents: Ballerina', which centers on Ana de Armas as the new titular character.

AceShowbiz - Despite John Wick's apparent demise in "John Wick: Chapter 4", Keanu Reeves will reprise his beloved role in the upcoming spin-off "John Wick Presents: Ballerina". Premiering at CinemaCon, the explosive first trailer for "Ballerina" introduces Ana de Armas as the titular assassin, Rooney, who seeks retribution for the murder of her family.

The footage, shown exclusively to movie theater owners and studios, showcases familiar faces from the franchise, including Ian McShane as Winston and Lance Reddick as Charon (in his final role). In a thrilling climax, Rooney meets with John Wick at a train yard and asks, "You're him, the one they call Baba Yaga? How do I start doing what you do?" Wick replies, "Looks like you already have."

Directed by Len Wiseman, "Ballerina" is set between the events of "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" and "Chapter 4". This means Wick is still on the run from the High Table and, surprisingly, alive despite a fatal bullet wound.

In addition to "Ballerina", Reeves also appeared in the first footage from writer/director Aziz Ansari's upcoming comedy "Good Fortune". In the film, Reeves plays an angel named Gabriel who tries to help a struggling man find purpose. However, Ansari revealed that Reeves had an accident during filming, fracturing his kneecap. Despite the injury, Reeves continued shooting most scenes, except for a salsa dance sequence.

"He actually is an angel," Ansari said of Reeves. "This is actually the first he's gotten to play his true form."

"Ballerina" will now release on June 6, 2025, giving the filmmakers time to add more action set pieces. Franchise veterans Chad Stahelski, Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee are producing the spin-off.
